Just came out of one of the more honest rooms I've been in this year.

PTAA's Ethics in Motion workshop. Almost a full day with travel professionals who showed up not to talk about packages or margins - but to ask harder questions.

Are our clients proud to recommend us?

Do we do the right thing when it's inconvenient?

Are we building something that lasts or just keeping busy?

That last one stayed with me.

Because so many agencies are genuinely working hard. Long hours, full inboxes, back-to-back inquiries. But there's a difference between being busy and actually moving forward with a clear direction.

How do you handle things when they don't go according to plan?

Ethics and Trust. These aren't the soft parts of running a travel business. These are the parts that decide whether a client comes back and whether they bring someone with them.

The agencies that will still be here in ten years aren't the ones with the lowest prices. They're the ones their clients trust enough to defend.

Just wrapped up an afternoon with the next generation of Philippine tourism professionals. 🌸

Last May 19, I had the privilege of speaking at TOHEX 2026 hosted by the UST College of Tourism and Hospitality Management, sharing how to build a Digital-Ready Tourism Venture with 3rd year Tourism students on the entrepreneurial track.

Here is what I love about this age group. They are at that honest crossroads. Some are excited to launch their own venture. Others are not quite ready yet and that is completely valid. What matters is that they are thinking about it, and they are asking the right questions.

My goal was simple. Whether you want to build your own business or become the most valuable person in any business you join, the same digital tools apply. You do not have to have it all figured out. You just have to start somewhere.

A few words from the students themselves:

And the challenge I keep seeing isn't a lack of technology.

It's technology without a clear strategy to support it.

And yet β€” the growth isn't showing up.

Because the question was never 'which tool should we use?'

It's 'what problem are we actually trying to solve, and is this the right way to solve it?'

That's the conversation I love having with clients.

The second most common thing I hear from clients:

'We're consistent. We post every day. We have nice visuals. But engagement is flat and leads aren't coming.'

Consistency without strategy is just noise.

What's usually missing isn't effort β€” it's alignment.
The content isn't connected to a clear business goal.
There's no thread between posts. No reason for someone to follow the story.
And no path forward when interest actually shows up.

I see this in travel brands. I see it in B2B service companies.
Same problem, different industries.

The fix isn't posting less β€” or more.
It's building a content system where every post has a job to do.
