LOOK: DAVAO CITY PH'S BEST CITY TO VISIT, ACCORDING TO WORLD TRAVEL INDEX
Davao City has been named by the World Travel Index (WTI) as the best city to visit in the Philippines, recognized for its affordability, safety, and overall quality of life.
WTI said Davao City earned 75.48 points, excelling in cost of stay, dining and shopping expenses, infrastructure, and local attractions. The city’s strict safety regulations, including its ban on smoking in public, firecracker use, and speeding, also helped cement its top ranking.
“The city’s commitment to providing a secure and enjoyable travel experience has made it a preferred destination for domestic and international tourists,” the WTI stated.
Davao is widely regarded as one of the safest cities in the Philippines, with a safety score of 80.73, second only to Dumaguete City. Its eco-friendly policies, cleanliness, rich cultural heritage, and delicacies like durian continue to make it a standout destination.
The city is also home to the country’s first 911 emergency response system, further boosting visitor confidence.
