This year, UNESCO added new World Heritage sites in Iran, Lebanon, and Palestine: Alamūt Castle and its related mountain fortifications in Iran, the Mount Amel Castles in Lebanon, and the ancient ruins of Sebastia in Palestine. The sites in Lebanon and Palestine were also placed on UNESCO’s List of World Heritage in Danger, highlighting the urgent need to protect heritage in places affected by conflict and instability.

Travel should bring you curiosity, not indifference. Care, not distance. These places existed long before the headlines, and they deserve to be known for more than what’s happening around them right now. That, in its own small way, is what today is about too: investing in peace, for everyone, everywhere, every day. 🕊️
