Every year, at least 8 to 11 million metric tons of plastic enter the world's oceans, thus permanently damaging marine life and biodiversity. In a recent study, researchers found that the Philippine archipelago is imminently threatened by marine pollutants including oil, heavy metals, organic pollutants, pharmaceuticals and personal care products, and plastics.
It is with this knowledge that GO21 Logistics continues to carry the yearly tradition of Think Blue, Go Green—an annual coastal and underwater cleanup—and it is to advocate for the protection and conservancy of marine life in the Philippines, which marine biologists recognize as the 'center of the center' of aquatic biodiversity in the world.
Think Blue, Go Green is our own way of showing our deep love and gratitude to our ocean.
We would like to thank everybody who took part in this year's Think Blue, Go Green 5.0 last September 19: our co-presenter Concept Grounds, in cooperation with International Coastal Cleanup Philippines and Ocean Conservancy, and our partners UBE Media, MPTC, Diveplan.ph, Barangay Mainit, and Municipality of Mabini.
