A splash of hot oil can happen in seconds, and when the burn looks manageable, it can be tempting to treat it and carry on. 🥘

But an injury that goes unreported can worsen without the right medical attention.

This coming October, our safety campaign takes a closer look at burns and scalds onboard. 🌡️

The International Coastal Cleanup 2026 brought us to Manila Bay, where we worked alongside more than 36,000 people taking part in cleanup activities across Metro Manila. 🌊

Together with volunteers from private companies, nongovernment organizations, academic institutions and government agencies our shore colleagues and cadets rolled up their sleeves and collected trash in the coast.

This is an initiative we support each year, giving our employees and cadets an opportunity to work together and contribute to cleaner coastlines.

Thank you to everyone who joined us once again! 💙

From international regulations to the routines followed on board, turning policy into practice is part of what keeps shipping safe, reliable and moving forward. ⚓

At the heart of it are people who bring their knowledge and experience to every stage of their journey at sea.

This World Maritime Day, we celebrate our seafarers and maritime colleagues around the world who make it all happen.
Happy World Maritime Day! 🌊

🪐 New in our orbit: Bow Pluto! ⚓

Meet one of the newest additions to the Odfjell fleet: Bow Pluto – 26,250 dwt, 23 stainless steel cargo tanks, Norwegian flag, owned, managed, and crewed by Odfjell.

For Captain Jose Vicente Jardiniano and his crew, bringing a brand-new vessel into operation is a special assignment. It means getting to know the ship from the inside out: becoming familiar with her equipment and systems, establishing routines, and building the teamwork needed for safe and efficient operations.

Third Officer Zayber Araya was part of the experienced crew that took over Bow Pluto at Shin Kurushima in Japan:

"Taking part in a ship takeover is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience... Watching a brand-new vessel officially become part of our fleet is a milestone worth celebrating and a memory that will stay with us for years to come."

Since then, Bow Pluto and her crew headed straight into life at sea, sailing across Asia and completing the first full voyage with loading and discharge operations at several ports.

A new ship, a new crew story and many voyages ahead. Congratulations to Captain Jardiniano and the entire Bow Pluto team – wishing you safe seas and smooth sailing!👏⚓

Our Ship Management colleagues gathered in Bergen yesterday for the SM Summit 🚢

The event brought the team together to take a look at where we are and align on priorities for the months and years ahead. The agenda covered ongoing projects, safety and the onboard work environment, planning for 2027, the use of GenAI, and inspiration to further improve teamwork and performance.

A day of good discussions, useful perspectives, and shared focus on the work ahead! 🙌

Across the world, our ships are lowering their flags today. From Singapore to Argentina, the US to Brazil, Belgium to South Africa, the Bahamas to Panama, Malaysia to Morocco – the flags on board our Norwegian-flagged vessels are flying at half-mast as we mourn the passing of His Majesty King Harald V.

Norway has lost a deeply respected and unifying figure. For those of us who make our living at sea, his passing also carries a special significance. Throughout his life, King Harald showed a genuine commitment to Norway as a seafaring nation and to the people and communities carrying its maritime traditions forward.

“We are grateful for King Harald’s lifetime of service to Norway, carried out with warmth, dignity and a remarkable ability to bring people together. On behalf of everyone at Odfjell, we extend our deepest condolences to the entire Royal Family,” said CEO Harald Fotland.

Wherever our ships may be, we join together in paying our respects.
