The name represents a combination of the first syllables of the first and last names of Atty. Rondaris had previously worked for several years as General Manager of his late fatherโs company, Times Transportation Co. After having gained valuable experience thereat and successfully obtaining a loan from a bank, Atty. Rondaris went on to create Viron and formulated the nomenclature โViron Transitโ f
or his passenger buses. At the time he began, Atty. Rondaris immediately knew he was faced with tasks of Herculean proportions if he wanted to survive in the rough and tumble world of transportation. Thus, armed with only six (6) 1850 Diesel Loadstar International Harvester units, loyal employees, steely determination, and iron discipline, Atty. Rondaris went to work. In 1980, he incorporated Viron as a full fledged corporation with an authorized capital stock of One Million (P 1,000,000.00) Pesos. Successive years saw an increase in the capitalization of Viron in line with the development of its core business. The results were encouraging: by 1985 or a mere seven (7) years later, Viron, already capitalized at Eight Million (P 8,000,000.00) Pesos, had one hundred twenty five (125) employees, forty six (46) Hino units, five (5) terminals, and four (4) Certificates of Public Convenience for various provincial routes. Despite its achievements, Viron continued to forge ahead. Today, Viron is a robust organization, with two hundred twenty nine (229) employees, one hundred twenty nine (129) units, eleven (11) terminals, and eleven (11) Certificates of Public Convenience. Clearly, Viron has become a power to be reckoned with in the field of public land transportation.
