We hear the voice of the people in todayโs protests, and we understand the prevailing frustration. The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has, for many years, been perceived to be afflicted with corruption and irregularities. The agency has often been seen as part of the problem. But we also want the public to know that we are determined to change this image by making real and lasting reforms.
With the guidance of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., we are strengthening measures that place integrity, accountability, and transparency at the heart of our work. It is in his courage to call out corruption and to demand full accountability that the BOC finds its strongest resolve to confront these challenges and deliver the reforms our people rightfully deserve.
These efforts include stricter enforcement measures, greater transparency, and our continued call for full automation of customs processes to reduce human intervention and close the doors where corruption once thrived. This transformation will not happen overnight, but we are committed to seeing it through.
We stand with our citizens in demanding change, fully aware of how corruption cripples livelihoods, erodes trust, and obstructs the nationโs progress. This is not only a call for good governance but a shared duty โ one that the BOC is firmly committed to uphold.
