DIESEL MAY RETURN TO TRIPLE DIGITS NEXT WEEK

Motorists may have to dig deeper again.

Fresh forecasts point to another surge in pump prices next week, with diesel expected to jump by as much as P10.50 per liter and gasoline by up to P4.50 per liter as renewed Middle East tensions, supply disruption fears, and tighter global fuel supplies drive oil prices higher.

If the projections hold, diesel prices in Metro Manila could climb to nearly P95 per liter, while diesel plus could breach the dreaded triple digit per liter threshold once again. | Maria Bernadette Romero

IT'S STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN...

Diesel could rise by P2.00 to P4.00 per liter next week, while gasoline prices are expected to move between a P1.00 rollback and a P1.00 increase, according to Jetti Petroleum.

The mixed outlook comes as stronger global diesel demand, tighter supplies, and escalating conflict in the Middle East support oil prices, while gasoline markets remain relatively well supplied.

If the forecast holds, Metro Manila diesel prices could climb to as high as P80.69 per liter, while RON95 gasoline could range between P67.25 and P95.68 per liter. | Maria Romero

Starting tomorrow, diesel prices at Seaoil stations will increase by P17.95 per liter, gasoline by P4.90, and kerosene by P8.10.

Jetti, meanwhile, announced price hikes of P18.60 per liter for diesel and P5.40 for gasoline, which will take effect on Friday. | via Brix Lelis
