Today, I honor the memory of Bae Norita Gabao as we celebrate the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples. She lives on as a master of Pangutob traditional tattooing and the brilliant co-composer of the iconic Manobo song, Idana. Your voice, music, and sacred ink will forever anchor the Tigwahanon Manobo culture."

I have been an advocate for indigenous peoples for a long time and have no plans to stop. I strongly believe in educating everyone and preserving rich cultures, especially in Mindanao.

A visit in Datu Salumay today reminded me of how rich our culture is.

Been away for a while—it's finally time to go home! JARI is what I now call home, but for a nomad like me, I always wonder where home really is.

Georgia is tempting me to move and live a life that completely suits me. But will I be happy there? Will the weather suit me? And the biggest question: can I adapt to the food?

What is certain is that I have so many things to do right now. Projects to keep my mind working, and relationships to keep my heart pumping. It’s not just about financial gain or emotional fulfillment. It’s about life!

Montserrat Land Dev Corp owns JARI, and this time, we are welcoming two new members to our family—with another two coming towards the end of this calendar year!

Just teasers for now, but they will play a huge part in my life. One is already there, and the other is arriving home with me.

To borrow Freds punchline.. MELS!

The severe flooding of major rivers and roads in Governor Generoso after just 3 days of rain has become a critical issue. We need a long-term solution!

To mitigate this, we must aggressively plant trees along our riverbanks. We need to replace the hills currently covered in cogon grass with native conifers like the famous Almaciga, alongside other flood-mitigating species such as Madre de Cacao, Ipil-ipil, Acacia, and bamboo.

I can hear at the back of my head the wisdom of Tatay Iti, Mananom lagi ta ug kahoy para sa kinaiyahan!

I almost forgot davao too should do massive reforestation. Esp marilog area sige na lang landslide.

Two of Mindanao's greatest natural landmarks have fallen—first the 300-year-old Dao tree in Governor Generoso, and now the 500-year-old Bitaug tree in Magallanes. It is a sad truth that we only realize the value of these ancient guardians when they are gone. We must act now and start planting before the next generation pays the price for our neglect.
