In Spring 2025 Hinano has another joyful trip...

But as usual there were some unexpected topics to overcome... starting with the engines again... and as soon they were running I got a Dengue fever infection... which costs mit 10 days to recover and than I detected a weak spot in the starboard stern deck... which I repaired before going out...

But there was a reward... another trip to the beloved Camotes Islands and the Camotes Fun Dive and Leisure as well as enjoying the great food -Sutokil-and-Bamboo-Rock-Resort-Camotes-Island

Sometimes I anchor In beautiful spots…. But sometimes I am still learning… that I have to improve my drone pilot skills

When I came to Hinano February 2024 I wanted to change the position of the traveller... Nothing dramatic you may think... normally yes...

But on the Portside hull there was a little bit of dust visible...

There are always surprises... but I wanted to go sailing... and it was not possible this time....

In August 2024 Hinano made another larger but nice sail trip to the Visayan Sea.

This time we visited Malapasqua, Kalangaman, Capitancillo Islet, Tabogon and the Northern San Francisco Bay from where we ent back - but we anchored for a dive and hike on the smallest of the Camotes Islands: Tulang...

MiniMe was the Dinghi which came with Kinship. Equipped with a Torqeedo 1kW engine. This engine died on my 2nd trip with Kinship with a broken handle... and this engine seems to be unreliable and could not be fixed by the official dealer in the Philippines... unfortunately

The Dinghi itself was wobbly and I did not like it a lot... so I was open for another solution. In Carmen is Adelo Misa who is building Dinghis... Basically these Dinghis are solid RIB´s... Rigid inflatable boats - but the inflatable tubes are made out of fiberglass... It is more heavy than a Highfield of OZ-Tender but it works really well...

As an engine I got a new Yamaha 15 HP 2 stroke engine...

These engines are lightweight and reliable... I was astonished to see that even Sailing La Vagabonde is using the same engine on there brand new boat...

Kinship is a beautiful boat and it’s developing very well. I am very happy to go back to her for another sail end of May… but I do want to let you participate on the damages seen just during my first visit … and you know: everything is fixed - which not only by repair but typically by an improvement of the design..

Here are some examples of the surprises I experienced.

I made comments on each photo what happened and what we did…

This was the experiences on my first trip. Definitely more to come…
