Holy Week 2026

Last minute camp escapade with family friends. Place is accessible, well-maintained, well-staffed, and with all the right amenities for camping and even for intimate events. It has a pool with lounges, beach, grass lawn, trees for shade, picnic area, sufficient toilet and bath cubicles, and tree swings. They also offer aircon room accommodations. The sea and nearby river are great for kayaking and paddling, too. The beach is nice for swimming during high tide and there is a sandy shore, shade and tree swing. During low tide, the waters recede, exposing the rocks and silt near the mangroves. Interestingly though, low tide exposes a spring that's right on the sea. Tent may be pitched on either the grass lawn or sandy areas. The mangroves, mango trees, and the pool serve as wind breakers, making the campsite relatively safe from squalls. Yet, it's breezy and cool enough during the day and even at night. Campsite can hold maybe about 10 family-size tents. There's too many things to love about this place. Booking is quick and easy via FB messenger or SIM text/call. The only downside is its proximity to the road so there's noise from passing vehicles. Since it's in the barrio and the area is fenced, it isn't as annoying. Hope that the anti-muffler brigade raids Tuburan next. There are no noisy neighbors (if there are, noise is muted) as a wide river acts as boundary between the resort and the nearby fishing village.

We find time to camp. It may not be as often as we'd like, but we do so with intention. When we camp two or more times in a month, the kids somewhat grow weary. When we don't camp in weeks, the kids miss it and would ask to camp again with friends. It may not be the actual camp after all, but the moments shared with other camping friends that make the kids love it.

PUNTA ANCHORA BEACH VILLAS & CAMPGROUNDS
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

We rated this coastal campsite 9/10 Black Hearts!

*****
Our second entry to Bet That Site by BTS Car Campers. Punta Anchora became our home for 3 nights during Holy Week 2025. Despite the summer peak season, there were only 4 to 6 camp setups at a time during our stay.

We're sharing our insights and personal commentary on each camping location based on our experience. The end goal is to help you have more fun and less unwanted surprises when you camp there by being better equipped and better informed campers. Hope this review helps!

🧭Location 8/10
- easy to find via Google Maps
- 100km from Cebu City, 2.5km from main highway (Santander-Barili Road)
- road from highway is wide and paved, road from the gate to the campgrounds is narrow, rough, and slopy but accessible even with a loaded sedan
- parking is also the campsite, side by side tent and car setup

🧳Logistics 10/10
- because you can park your car beside your tent, there is no logistics concern
- from campsite down to the beach cove, access is either by walking down established stairs (with railguards and rest areas) or by driving to the beach via the beach villas area
- it's ideal to bring all your essential supplies but there are sari2x stores a few meters from the gate, and several markets, fastfood, groceries, and shops in Badian and Moalboal
- Punta Anchora Payag restaurant also serve meals and refreshments, sell ice (not potable)

🤲Service 8/10
- you get service of a 3-star resort, staff is courteous and helpful
- there might be slow or delayed communication w/ staff esp. when they're tending to the villa guests (they have to walk the distance)
- staff will welcome and usher you to the potential locatipns for setup

🚱Cleanliness 9/10
- very clean surroundings, modest but well-maintained
- clean toilet and shower areas
- beach cove is private and clean
-bugs are part of campsites, the ants here are quite aggressive when you're not careful with food scraps and crumbs, very few flies, one or two stray dogs

💂‍♂️Security 10/10
- there is only one entrance to the resort
- security guard/caretaker/staff stay with guests within property and they come to check now and then
- gate is kept lock including the gate access to the cove (closes 7pm to 7am)
- beach and cove is private, no access to public/non guest
- we felt safe enough leaving our tents for a side trip to Kawasan Falls
- CCTV cams are in place at the resto

🏕Amenities 9/10
- a small pool with shade
- established access to a white, sandy beach and private cove
- vast open spaces, patches of flowery gardens
- volleyball net
- several sinks and running water spread across the campgrounds
- fantastic view of the Tanon Strait, sunset, and the cove esp via the Sunset Viewdeck with cushioned seats
- separate shower and toilet, one of each for male and female
- free Starlink wifi but available only at resto
- free to use chest freezer
- free to charge at resto with multiple outlets
- free to use water dispenser with cold drinking water
- A cabins available for guests within the campgrounds
- several coastal bushes that offer partial shades
- super relaxing ambiance, clifftop campgrounds, the cool breeze blows from the Mantalongon range during late afternoon to dawn, expect relatively strong winds in the afternoon, but there's enough natural windbreakers to protect from tent-uprooting squalls

🤩Extras 9/10
- very weak mobile signal in the area, but Starlink WiFi at the resto is reliable
- guests and campers can relax and lounge freely at the resto with cushioned seats and outlets for charging
- pets allowed but must be leashed
- owner/manager is not fussy and will listen and may accommodate requests

💲 Rates 9/10
- Punta Anchora charges base rate of P900 for 2 campers (as of April 17, 2025), no limit to setup area but do be considerate of other campers and free space for vehicles driving through

🎭Overall 72/80
9 Black Hearts

Nanay: Sprawling campsite with a lounge area! Love the sunsets.
Tatay: Nice beach, breezy, I like the Payag (resto), and great they offer wifi.
Daughter1: I like the pool and the beach.
Daughter2: I like the swing and the open space. I also like the beach.

We 🖤 Punta Anchora, Badian, Cebu!

This

is an ever dependable light for camping, nightly outdoor activities, and when there's power outage. We used it for three nights straight -- high beam during dinner and evening sessions, and then low light continuous operation from bedtime until morning. When we got home, it's still at 75% battery level.

This product comes with a hard case, 3 alum pegs, and charger cable.
