βοΈ GOOD NEWS FOR TRAVELERS THIS JUNE! π Fuel Surcharge is Going Down
If napansin mo na medyo mahal ang airfare nitong mga nakaraang months, hereβs some good news π
The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) announced that the fuel surcharge for flights will decrease from Level 15 to Level 13 for June 1β15, 2026. This means there may be a slight relief in airfare costs for some domestic and international flights.
π What is fuel surcharge?
Fuel surcharge is an additional fee added by airlines to help cover the cost of jet fuel. It is separate from the base fare, and it changes depending on global fuel prices. Kapag mataas ang presyo ng jet fuel, mas mataas din ang surcharge. Kapag bumaba ang fuel prices, possible din bumaba ang airfare-related charges.
π What changed this June?
For the first half of June, CAB lowered the fuel surcharge to Level 13 (from Level 15 last May).
Under the new level:
βοΈ Domestic flights: fuel surcharge may range from around β±423 to β±1,237 depending on distance.
π International flights: around β±1,396 to β±10,385 depending on destination. These are lower compared to the previous Level 15 rates.
β οΈ But reminder lang:
Hindi ibig sabihin na lahat ng tickets ay sobrang mura agad. Flight fares still depend on:
β Seat availability
β Travel season / peak dates
β Promo fares or seat sales
β Taxes & airport fees
β Airline pricing system
π‘ Travel Tip:
If youβre planning a trip, this is a good time to start checking fares and booking early. Even if fuel surcharge is lower, fares can still go up quickly kapag paubos na seats or malapit na ang travel date.
