LOOK | CPA joins the Third Quarter NSED 2026

In support to the call made by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) officials and personnel from Main Office and Field Offices participated in the Third Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for CY 2026 conducted yesterday, 10 September 2026 at exactly 2:00 p.m.

The NSED is being conducted quarterly nationwide and is spearheaded by the NDRRMC together with the Office of the Civil Defense.

This is done to intensify earthquake preparedness and to instill in the mind of every person the practice of "duck, cover and hold" when ground shaking occurs or during earthquakes.

During the drill, CPA also conducted a fire drill in conjunction with the earthquake simulation to reinforce essential safety protocols and demonstrate CPA’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its personnel and facilities during emergencies.

These activities were carried out to further strengthen the agency’s emergency response capability and ensure that personnel are familiar with proper evacuation and rescue procedures in times of disaster.

A POWERFUL UNIFYING SOUND ACROSS THE PORTS OF CEBU!

The Cebu Port Authority (CPA) successfully participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Blowing of Ships' Horns!

At exactly 10:00 AM on September 1, 2026, ships docked and anchored across Cebu echoed a sounding and powerful, unified chorus across our waters.

This synchronized event marks the official launching of Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo 2026) pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 316, s. 2017. Held every September, MANA Mo aims to raise public consciousness about the Philippines' unique identity as an archipelagic state with over 7,000 islands. It unifies major maritime observances—such as International Coastal Clean-up Day, Fish Conservation Week, and National Maritime Day—into a single month to highlight marine conservation, maritime security, coastal heritage, and the sustainable growth of our blue economy.

The simultaneous horn blasts serve as a simple yet impactful national expression of our identity, pride, and shared heritage as a maritime nation. By bringing together government maritime agencies, port operations, shipping lines, fishing communities, and international partners, the initiative fosters deep solidarity across the entire maritime sector while reminding us all of the vital role our seas and ports play in shaping our national trade, security, and future.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all vessel captains, crew members, port personnel, and maritime partners whose participation made this event a resounding success!
