NSPPO Arrests 18 in Weeklong Law Enforcement Operations

CAMP CARLOS DELGADO, CATARMAN, NORTHERN SAMAR – The Northern Samar Police Provincial Office, under the leadership of Provincial Director PCOL GEORGE B BUYACAO JR., arrested 18 individuals in intensified law enforcement operations conducted from August 21 to 28, 2026, targeting wanted persons, illegal gambling, illegal logging, and illegal drugs.

Under the Campaign Against Wanted Persons, police units conducted nine operations, resulting in the arrest of eight wanted persons, including two Municipal Most Wanted Persons for violations of the Anti-Fencing Law and Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The Campaign Against Illegal Gambling resulted in two operations and the arrest of six individuals, with bet money confiscated.

Meanwhile, three anti-illegal logging operations led to the arrest of three individuals and the confiscation of forest products valued at ₱14,329.00, with a total volume of 308.8 board feet.

An anti-illegal drug operation by Palapag MPS also resulted in the arrest of one individual.

On campaign against looses fi****ms, one firearm was voluntarily surrendered to the 2nd Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company, while three individuals surrendered to authorities through the efforts of the 1st and 2nd NSPMFC under the Anti-Insurgency Campaign.

PCOL BUYACAO JR. commended the operating units for their accomplishments and reaffirmed the NSPPO’s commitment to suppress criminality and protect the people of Northern Samar.

“We will continue to intensify our law enforcement operations and relentlessly pursue individuals involved in criminal activities. We urge everyone to remain vigilant and continue working with the PNP toward a safer, more secure, and peaceful Northern Samar,” PCOL BUYACAO said.

NSPPO, NAPOLCOM-Northern Samar Highlight 32nd National Crime Prevention Week, Recognize Top-Performing Units

CAMP CARLOS DELGADO, CATARMAN, NORTHERN SAMAR — The Northern Samar Police Provincial Office, under the leadership of PCOL GEORGE B BUYACAO JR, Provincial Director, in partnership with the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM)-Northern Samar, commemorated the 32nd National Crime Prevention Week through a program held today, September 1, 2026, at the NSPPO Multi-Purpose Covered Court.

Anchored on the theme, “Strengthening Civilian Oversight and Collective Action for Safer Communities,” the activity underscored the importance of strong partnerships among law enforcement agencies, government institutions, and the community in preventing crime and promoting peace and public safety.

A highlight of the celebration was the awarding of Certificates of Commendation to top-performing units and deserving personnel in recognition of their exemplary performance, dedication, and significant contributions to crime prevention and public safety in the province.

The 2nd Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company was recognized as the top-performing unit among NSPPO line units in Law Enforcement Accomplishments from January to July 2026. Additionally, Laoang Municipal Police Station ranked second, while the Catarman MPS placed third.

Adding significance to the occasion, ATTY. ROWEL A QUEROBINES, Provincial Officer of NAPOLCOM-Northern Samar, delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the vital role of civilian oversight, accountability, and collective action in strengthening public trust and building safer communities.

“This is why the observance of the 32nd National Crime Prevention Week is especially relevant today. Its theme reminds us that lasting peace and security depend not only on effective policing, but also on public trust, accountable institutions, and communities that are informed, engaged, and willing to act together,” ATTY. QUEROBINES shared.

The celebration served as a reminder that crime prevention is a shared responsibility. Through strengthened partnerships, accountable institutions, and active community participation, NSPPO and its stakeholders remain committed to working together toward safer, more peaceful, and resilient communities in Northern Samar.

NSPPO Joins National Heroes Day 2026 Commemoration

As the Northern Samar Police Provincial Office under the stewardship of PCOL GEORGE B BUYACAO JR, Provincial Director, joins the entire nation in commemorating National Heroes Day, a Flag Raising Ceremony was conducted today, August 31, 2026, at the NSPPO Quadrangle, Camp Carlos Delgado.

PLTCOL JOEL M NICHA, Deputy Provincial Director for Administration, led the staff and personnel in the solemn observance, paying tribute to the courage, sacrifices, and unwavering patriotism of the nation’s heroes.

In his message, PLTCOL NICHA emphasized that the sacrifices and love of country demonstrated by our heroes serve as a lasting inspiration for every Filipino to uphold the values of integrity, courage, selflessness, and service to others.

2nd NSPMFC Leads Arrest of Wanted Person for Murder in Rizal

PAMBUJAN, NORTHERN SAMAR – The 2nd Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company, under the leadership of PLTCOL NORMAN S KIAT-ONG JR, Force Commander, together with the Taytay Municipal Police Station, Northern Samar Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Special Operations Unit and Catubig MPS successfully arrested the Other Wanted Person for the crime of Murder in Taytay, Rizal on August 30, 2026.

The accused were identified as 35-year-old, male, fish vendor, single and a resident of Catubig, Northern Samar and a 44-year-old male, fish vendor, married and a resident of Catubig, Northern Samar.

The arrest was carried out by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of Murder issued by Regional Trial Court, 8th Judicial Region, Branch 21, Laoang, Northern Samar, dated June 25, 2018 with no bail recommended.

The arrested individual was properly informed of the nature of his arrest and his constitutional rights. He was subsequently brought to Taytay MPS for proper documentation and disposition.

In a statement, PLTCOL NORMAN S KIAT-ONG JR. emphasized the importance of holding accountable individuals facing charges for murder and other serious offenses, while reaffirming the PNP’s commitment to ensuring that justice is served.

“The arrest of a wanted individual facing a murder charge demonstrates our unwavering commitment to bringing perpetrators of serious crimes to justice. We will continue to pursue individuals who evade the law and ensure that victims and their families receive the justice they deserve. Let this serve as a reminder that no one is above the law,” said PLTCOL KIAT-ONG JR.

NATIONAL HEROES DAY 2026: Honoring the Heroes Among Us

On this National Heroes Day, the Northern Samar Police Provincial Office under the leadership of PCOL GEORGE B BUYACAO JR, Provincial Director, joins the nation in honoring and remembering the brave men and women whose courage, sacrifice, and unwavering love for country helped shape the country we know today.

We salute our national heroes who fought for freedom, defended our sovereignty, and stood for the dignity and welfare of the Filipino people. Bagong Yugto ng Pag-asa: Rebelde kusang-loob na Sumuko sa 2nd NSPMFC

PAMBUJAN, NORTHERN SAMAR – Sa isang matagumpay na operasyon, ang 2nd Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company sa ilalim ng direktang pangangasiwa ni PLTCOL NORMAN S KIAT-ONG JR, Force Commander, sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa 20Infantry Battalion habang nagsasagawa ng combat operation ay matagumpay na nakipagnegosasyon sa kusang pagsuko ng isang miyembro ng Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) na isinagawa sa Brgy. San Francisco, Las Navas, Northern Samar noong Agosto 29, 2026.

Ang sumukong indibidwal ay kinilalang isang 36- taong gulang, lalaki, may kinikasama, magsasaka at residente ng Pambujan, Northern Samar. Hindi siya kabilang sa PSR (Periodic Status Report) list ngunit nagsilbi siyang myembro ng SRC EMPORIUM, EVRPC.

Ipinahayag ng nasabing dating rebelde ang kanyang boluntaryong pagbabalik-loob sa pamahalaan at isinuko ang isang baril na Cal. 357 na revolver, may binurang serial number at apat (4) na bala ng cal. 38 ay ini-turn over sa Supply Section ng unit na ito para sa wastong pag-iingat at safekeeping.

Ang nasabing dating miyembro ng CTG ay kasalukuyang nasa kustodiya ng 2nd NSPMFC para sa kaukulang dokumentasyon at isinailalim sa tactical interview upang matukoy ang kanyang katapatan at sinceridad sa pagtulong sa pamahalaan, pati na rin ang kanyang kwalipikasyon para sa Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP/LSIP).

"Ang bawat baril at mga bala na isinusuko sa atin ay katumbas ng mga buhay na naililigtas natin mula sa panganib. Sa mga natitira pang kasapi ng CTG na nagtatago sa kabundukan, ang pagsuko ng inyong kasamahan ngayong araw ay isang paalala na hindi pa huli ang lahat. Isuko ninyo ang inyong mga baril bago pa ito magdulot ng trahedya. Ang aming himpilan sa Pambujan ay hindi lamang lugar ng seguridad, kundi pintuan para sa inyong pagbabagong-buhay at pag-unlad," ayon kay PLTCOL KIAT-ONG.
