The Northern Samar Police Provincial Office brought home impressive results, securing 2nd and 6th Place among 16 competing teams during the “Shoot for a Cause” Invitational Funshoot held on October 3–4, 2026, at Camp Sumoroy, 803rd “Peacemaker” Brigade, Philippine Army, Brgy. Dalakit, Catarman, Northern Samar.

The event was held in celebration of the 36th Founding Anniversary of the 803rd Infantry Brigade, highlighting camaraderie, sportsmanship, and solidarity among participating law enforcement units, government partners, and stakeholders.

Demonstrating the strength of teamwork and partnership, the NSPPO Team joined forces with local government officials and stakeholders, showcasing not only marksmanship and discipline but also the enduring spirit of cooperation in support of meaningful causes.

During the ceremony, Las Navas Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Lavezares MPS received Letters of Commendation for their significant accomplishments in the arrest of wanted persons. Likewise, NUP Kathleen D. Tang was recognized for her invaluable contributions to the administrative accomplishments of NSPPO.

𝗣𝗥𝗢 𝟴 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧

The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) has taken cognizance of the Facebook post currently circulating online regarding the alleged “No Shoot, No Leave Policy” within the region.

Upon thorough verification, PRO 8 confirms that the directive in question was an internal policy of the previous leadership and had already been officially revoked and terminated effective September 15, 2026, before it was posted online on September 28, 2026. Consequently, the policy is no longer in effect anywhere across the region.

Moreover, PBGEN ROMANO V CARDIÑO, PRO 8 Regional Director had immediately ordered a comprehensive review of the directive to ensure that all local guidelines strictly align with standard Philippine National Police (PNP) operational procedures, human rights protocols, and administrative regulations governing personnel welfare.

PRO 8 reassures both the public and PNP personnel that continuous administrative measures are being enforced to uphold clear command guidance and safeguard personnel welfare. PRO 8 remains steadfast in maintaining transparency, discipline, and accountability while upholding peace and order in Eastern Visayas.

PNP SEIZES ₱9.2-MILLION SUSPECTED COUNTERFEIT SEASONING PRODUCTS, ARRESTS TWO IN BULACAN

Under the leadership of PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police authorities arrested two women and seized approximately ₱9.255 million worth of suspected counterfeit food seasoning products during an operation in Marilao, Bulacan on October 1.

The operation was conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in coordination with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and representatives of the concerned trademark owner. The two suspects, aged 35 and 50, were apprehended during the operation at a warehouse in Barangay Patubig, Marilao.

Authorities recovered a substantial quantity of suspected counterfeit seasoning products, including those obtained during the controlled purchase and additional items found at the site. The seized products were secured and will undergo proper documentation and disposition as part of the case proceedings.

The suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and brought to the CIDG office for documentation. Appropriate complaints under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines and the Food Safety Act of 2013 are being prepared for submission to the prosecutor’s office in Malolos City, Bulacan.

Chief PNP PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the operation highlights the importance of coordinated enforcement in protecting consumers and legitimate businesses.

“We will continue to act on information involving suspected counterfeit products, especially when these may reach ordinary consumers. At the same time, we will make sure that every enforcement action is properly documented, lawful, and respectful of due process,” PGen Nartatez said.

The operation forms part of the PNP’s continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda and Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which promote coordinated, intelligence-led, and accountable police action. It also supports the broader public safety and consumer protection efforts under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The PNP will continue to strengthen coordination with government agencies and other stakeholders in addressing suspected counterfeit products and other activities that may affect public safety and consumer welfare, consistent with the Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

FOUR REGIONAL MOST WANTED PERSONS ARRESTED IN MURDER, R**E CASES

Under the leadership of PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police units arrested four high-priority wanted persons in separate operations in Metro Manila and Regions 3 and 13 from September 30 to October 1, 2026, as the PNP continues its sustained efforts to locate individuals facing serious criminal charges and facilitate their appearance before the proper courts.

In Metro Manila, police personnel arrested the No. 1 Most Wanted Person of the National Capital Region in Intramuros, Manila, on September 30. The individual is facing cases for Murder and Attempted Murder, with the court imposing the corresponding bail recommendations.

In Butuan City, personnel of the Butuan City Police Office arrested the No. 3 Most Wanted Person in the area, who is facing cases involving Statutory R**e and violations of Republic Act No. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

Also on September 30, joint police units in Surigao del Sur arrested the No. 3 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 13 in Lianga. The individual is facing cases for Murder and several counts of Attempted Murder.

Meanwhile, police personnel in Dingalan, Aurora, arrested the No. 6 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 3 on October 1. The individual is facing cases involving Statutory R**e and R**e by Sexual Assault.
Chief PNP Nartatez emphasized that the operations demonstrate the importance of sustained police work and close coordination in locating wanted persons while ensuring that every arrest is carried out within the bounds of law.

“Our job is to make sure that wanted persons are located and brought before the proper authorities, but we also have to make sure that every step is done right. Sundin ang warrant, sundin ang batas, at igalang ang karapatan ng bawat isa. That is how we do our job,” PGen Nartatez said.

The operations are part of the PNP’s continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly through Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which strengthens coordination, operational planning, and police action based on available information and the requirements of each case.

The PNP likewise continues to support the peace and order priorities of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. through professional, accountable, and responsive law enforcement while upholding due process and the rights of all individuals.

All four arrested persons are now under police custody and will undergo the appropriate procedures for the continuation of their respective cases. The PNP reiterates that an arrest or criminal charge does not constitute a finding of guilt, which remains a matter for the courts to determine.

Through sustained police operations and responsible service, the PNP continues to advance the Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman, bringing police service closer to the people while ensuring that the law and due process remain at the center of every operation.

The Catarman Municipal Police Station (MPS) promptly responded to an incident involving a minor student who was reportedly found in illegal possession of a fi***rm inside a school in Brgy. Dalakit, Catarman, Northern Samar, on October 1, 2026.

Following the incident, Catarman MPS immediately coordinated with school authorities, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, and the Local Government Unit to ensure the student’s welfare and the proper handling of the situation. Safety and security measures were likewise strengthened in coordination with concerned stakeholders to help ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel.

In accordance with existing laws and policies, Catarman MPS strictly observes existing laws and policies governing the release of information, particularly in cases involving minors. Information is disclosed only through authorized channels, with due regard for the privacy and welfare of the child involved.

In this regard, fi***rm owners, particularly parents and guardians, are reminded to exercise utmost responsibility in the safekeeping of fi***rms and ensure that these remain inaccessible to minors. Students and members of the community are likewise encouraged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities or safety concerns to the proper authorities.

At the same time, the public is urged to exercise caution and responsibility by refraining from sharing, reposting, or circulating unauthorized or unverified information, particularly on social media.
