"MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – A tropical storm approaching east of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) within the week may become a typhoon – or even a super typhoon – according to weather forecasters.

The storm, now with international name Hagupit, was spotted 2,325 kilometers east of Mindanao at 2 pm on Tuesday, December 2, by state weather bureau PAGASA.

There are two possible scenarios for the storm's track, explained PAGASA Assistant Weather Services Chief Renito Paciente.

In one scenario, Hagupit will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday, December 4, and be given the name "Ruby." By this time, it would have developed into a typhoon with windspeeds of 120 to 140 kilometers per hour (km/h).

It is then expected to make landfall on Sunday, December 7, when it may already register maximum sustained winds of 150 to 175 km/h. Such winds are strong enough to bring down trees, electric towers, cell sites and weak houses, said Paciente."

Nijaga Park is the largest park in Calbayog City where most of the town shows are held. It is of the commemoration of its local hero Don Benedicto "Biktoy" Nijaga that is why there is also a small museum that can be found here. It is located beside the Calbayog River which separates Downtown and Brgy Obrero which leads to the northern parts of the city. The park also has an artificial replica of Bangon-Bugtong Falls.

Located in Brgy. Danao, 14 km away from the city proper, this cave features at least seven chambers inhabited by various species of snakes and bats, which explains the preference of good deposits of guano. Old tales claimed that this is the place for those who would like to acquire their talisman.

This is located in Brgy.Longsob in Oquendo District. This is the most visited cave in Calbayog. Despite reports of incidents, vandalism and thefts, one can still have a glimpse of a good number of stalactites and stalagmites inside this cave which features a large entrance, a large dome with an oculus which locales refer to as "bito" and the waterfall and the waterway on which visitors swim on the way out.
