🚨 Advisor update 🚨
Changes to the Parent Resident Visa

Starting 5 October 2026, Expressions of Interest (EOIs) will move to a new hybrid selection model:

90% selected by date order (gives priority to those waiting longest).

10% selected by random ballot.

The yearly cap remains at 2,500 visas.

If your EOI expires on or after 5 October, you do not need to do anything. More details on pool positions are coming soon!

Skilled Migrant Category (SMC) Clarifications

New Zealand Immigration has announced minor technical changes taking effect on 24 August 2026 to clarify SMC rules:

Work Experience Evidence

Applicants under Skilled Work Experience, Trades, and Technician Pathways must provide job descriptions, employment agreements, and tax records.

If overseas tax records are unavailable, a certificate of service from the previous employer is acceptable.

Wage Thresholds & Points

Applicants claiming 6 points strictly from income, qualification, or registration must meet the SMC wage threshold when invited to apply.

Those claiming points for NZ skilled work experience can use a combination of points that best suits them, potentially claiming points for lower-level qualifications.

The "look-back period" for setting the wage threshold differs from the period used for counting skilled work experience.

Check the official website for full details and scenarios.πŸ‘‡

πŸ€” PTE or IELTS – Which English Test is Better for Your New Zealand Visa? πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ

This is one of the most common questions we get! πŸ’¬

The answer is... it depends on YOU! 😊

πŸ’» IELTS – Computer-delivered formats, with the speaking test conducted with a real examiner.
πŸ’» PTE Academic – Fully computer-based, including the speaking component, with AI scoring and often faster results.

🎯 So, which one is right for you? It depends on your strengths and test-taking style.

One of the biggest keys to success is PREPARATION! Whether you choose IELTS or PTE, the better you prepare, the greater your chance of achieving your target score.

🚩 Someone wants money for a job? That's not an opportunity. It's a red flag.

Scammers may promise jobs, visas, or a pathway to stay in New Zealand if you pay upfront. Before you hand over your money, stop and check the facts.
A genuine job should pay you. Not the other way around.
