3D2N Historical Siem Reap Free and Easy Package

Siem Reap province is located in northwest Cambodia. It is the major tourist hub in Cambodia, as it is the closest city to the world famous temples of Angkor (the Angkor temple complex is north of the city). The provincial capital is also called Siem Reap and is located in the South of the province on the shores of the Tonle Sap Lake, the greatest sweet water reserve in whole Southeast Asia.

At the turn of the millennium Siem Reap was a Cambodian provincial town with few facilities, minor surfaced roads and little in the way of nightlife. Tourism industry catered largely to hardy backpackers willing to brave the tortuous road from the Thai border on the tailgate of a local pick-up truck. There were a couple of large hotels and a handful of budget guesthouses. Tuk-tuks and taxis were non-existent and the trusty motodup was the chosen means of touring the temples of Angkor.

Day 2
HALF DAY CITY TEMPLE TOUR (B)
After hotel breakfast, start compulsory morning city temple tour to visit Wat Traimitr where houses the most sacred Golden Buddha image weight 5.5 tons of pure gold and located near china town area. The Golden Buddha was probably a product of the Sukhothai period in the 13th century, but was eventually placed in an Ayuthaya temple. Ayuthaya was the capital of a rival Thai kingdom. Next, visit the Wat Phra Chetupon Vimolmangklararm Rajwaramahaviharn (Wat Pho) which houses the biggest Reclining Buddha image. The image was made of stuccoes bricks gilded with gold leaves. This statue is 46 meters long, with the dimensions at the face of 15 meters high and at each foot of 3 meters high and 5 meters long. This temple is known for the first medical school in Thailand. Afterwards, proceed to jewellery factory quality for exporting. On the way going back to hotel; drop off for those who would like to do shopping at MBK shopping mall. Guests are required to go back to their hotel on their own arrangement.

Day 3
DEPART BANGKOK (B)
