2 Water Falls in a day plus beach side trip this comming February 16, 2025 Sunday
1. AW-ASEN FALLS
"Aw-asen Falls" in Sto. Rosario, Sigay, Ilocos Sur
It is one of the best attractions in the municipality of Sigay. It is known as the tallest waterfall in Region I measuring 120 meters high. Situated in Sto. Rosario, the southernmost barangay, its magnificent beauty is perfectly at its best from November to May.
The area of the falls is remote that keeps the place away from pollution, the water comes from a spring uphill, and it is so fresh that you can even drink from it. The water basin of the falls runs deep and still during summer, non-swimmers can enjoy the place floating on a raft; its waters might get harsh and cruel as it appears during the rainy season but gives a majestic view of nature that seems to urge for a photograph.
Getting there is an adventure itself, walking through some bushes and springs, ascend and descend for a seemingly endless uphill and downhill walk as if going down to the center of the earth, voices even echoed like being in an inside of a wide well; at the end of the journey the waterfall serves as the prize of the long trek.
2. SANGBAY NI RAGSAK FALLS
"Sangbay ni Ragsak” which when translated to English means the Waterfalls of Happiness. It was first named as Burayok and named Sangbay ni Ragsak by Barangay Captain of Patoc-ao August of 2007. It is approximately 30 m in height. Its natural formation is inherent to mountain terrain. It attracts local and foreign tourists seeking ecological and natural surroundings to enjoy. Its pool area is not deep for diving. Nevertheless, it’s good for dipping with its cool waters.
3. Chill out, sunset viewing at the Urbiztundo Beach before going home to Baguio
