We completed a 3-part bird photography tour with the bird photographer, Manuel, yesterday at Varirata National Park.

Thanks to the rain that fell on the early hours of yesterday morning, we got to see and hear more than a dozen Raggiana Birds of Paradise doing their mating calls.

Over the 3 tours, about 40 different bird species were photographed by Manuel.

We toasted with Ethiopian coffee and toasted sandwiches after the photography session.

Addendum:

Please note that it is not mating season, and according to the guide, the birds were cheerful that the rain fell during the morning. The call was more of a male call to impress/attract females, not a call leading to coitus.

Monday's tour with Manuel the bird photographer took us to two birdwatching gems outside of Port Moresby.

The first stop was a small lake that had almost 10 different bird species visiting or living there. The second stop was the Pacific Adventist University.

Manuel photographed and added two new birds to his bird collection, one of them was endemic!

We had heaps of fun with our clients at Fisherman Island last Saturday 🏝️

Lunch served was soft drinks, lamb chops and potatoes.

Our next tour will be on 27th of this month!

We took Sue yesterday on a 3 hour tour of the city.

We visited the Boroko Craft Market, Bomana War Cemetery and did some bird watching at the Adventure Park.

We really enjoyed her company.
