🚌 All you need to know about bus station of Puno — the 11 things travelers ask us every week.
Puno's main terminal is on Jr. Primero de Mayo 703-705, 10 to 15 minutes from the Plaza de Armas. Here's what's actually inside 👇
🏧 ATMs available inside the terminal
🧳 Luggage storage, currently open 6:00 am to 10:00 pm
🍳 Restaurants serving breakfast on the second floor
🚻 Restrooms cost 1 sol per person
🔌 No free-access power outlets — phone charging is a paid service at the shops inside
🚿 No showers inside; the lodgings just outside the terminal have them
💵 Departure tax: 2 soles (under $1 USD), paid at the counter in the middle of the terminal before you enter the boarding area
🚕 Taxis inside and outside. Take the ones inside when you can. If you take one from outside, check for the official plate: white with a yellow stripe
⚠️ Important: this is the "Terminal Terrestre," where long-distance buses leave for Arequipa, Cusco, Tacna, Moquegua and Lima. It's not the Terminal Zonal Sur or Terminal Zonal Norte, which serve nearby towns like Ilave, Juli, Desaguadero, Kasani and Juliaca. Telling your taxi driver the wrong one costs you the bus.
Puno is the gateway to the Uros floating islands, Taquile, Amantaní and Sillustani. If you're building your route, we can handle the tours and the transfers. 🌊
