A couple of weeks ago Stockwells New Zealand were over the moon to be a sponsor and visit the 2024 Auckland Special Children's Christmas Party.
There were many activities for the children to participate in and have fun. The performances of the dancers and singers were a delight. Plenty of cool cars for all to see. Walking around having photos taken with all were Star Wars characters and Transformers - the look on some kids faces was priceless. And of course, Santa and presents for the invited children.
Thank you to Stuff and Sky for putting this event together - you put a big smile on the faces of many children that day!

Last Friday, our team at Stockwells New Zealand gathered for our Christmas celebration at the Alexandra Trots. The buffet at Top of the Park was amazing and definitely lived up to our expectations. We even had the chance to meet Santa! While there were plenty of bets placed throughout the evening, none of us made a great impact of lining our pockets. Despite that, the night was far from spoiled, and we had the perfect mix of festive cheer and good company.

Happy Friday! Tania from our Stockwells New Zealand team said it was a wonderful morning, soaking up the sunshine and making a positive impact. Put differently she was out enjoying the sun while picking up rubbish.

It’s amazing how a small group can make such a big difference by cleaning up even just one street. The sense of accomplishment knowing you've helped keep the environment cleaner, is just so rewarding. It’s the perfect way to end the week, for sure!

Thank you to the Wiri Business Association for putting this volunteer day in place. Tania said that she will definitely be putting her name down for the next clean-up crew.

Today Stockwells New Zealand hosted another successful Complimentary Freight Forwarding Workshop. Yvonne (NZ Manager) received several insightful questions from all the participants.

One participant commented the below on their feedback form.
"This would be great to not only people in supply chain, but possibly to managers (product managers), sales reps etc... It would be great for others in the business to understand these processes to both understand costs, margins, lead times and how it affects the business as a whole."

Thank you, Wiri Business Association for organising the Business After 5 event with Hayley and the team at The Sebel Auckland Manukau last night. As it was a Halloween special our team at Stockwell International New Zealand got all dressed up!
We enjoyed delicious Halloween-themed food & a mocktail. The tour to see the rooms offered at The Sebel was great and thank you for the little gift.
We were lucky to win best dressed as a team and luck stayed with Georgie when her name was drawn for a great prize as well!

Note that Monday the 28th of October is a national public holiday in New Zealand - Labour Day.

Our office for Stockwell International New Zealand will be closed and we will reopen on Tuesday 29th October.

We hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable long weekend!

Wow! Yesterday, we had another successful Complimentary Freight Forwarding Workshop led by Yvonne at our Stockwell International New Zealand office, generating more great questions from attendees.

It was perfect timing as the Wiri Business Association stopped by for orders while their coffee van was parked on our street. Our staff and workshop participants all appreciated their free coffee / hot chocolate!

A while ago Stockwell International New Zealand attended a careers day where groups of school leavers were given 15 minutes of your time and went around the room and spoke with different businesses.

Well, this got our manager Yvonne Kessels thinking….

Yesterday, we hosted a street event involving The Manurewa High School. We had a group of students walk around and visit 8 companies as well as our office on our street in Wiri. This was to give the students an insight into ‘the real working world’ and advice from business owners and employees. Hopefully, some will have a lightbulb moment and see a type of job that interests them and what is expected of them when entering the workforce. Thanks to Neil Lawton and Will Aviga for jumping on board whilst we launched this event.

Thank you to the following companies in our street for participating with us and taking time out of their busy schedule to allow students to visit and see hands-on what their business is about and offering plenty of great advice – South Auckland Engineering, Wells Hygiene Systems, Rubbertrack Warehouse, Trade Direct, Don Kyatt, Generator Services Ltd, Fluid & General Ltd and Digga.

It was great to see staff from the office of Rima Nakhle MP for Takanini visit to see what we were up to - thank you Derek Bonnar and Lauren Hanson.

Last of all a big thank you to the Wiri Business Association whom alongside Yvonne helped organise the event and supplied a lovely lunch.

Last week, some of our Stockwell International New Zealand team attended the Wiri Business Association AGM. The guest speaker was the Hon David Seymour. There was no twerking, just some great stories from his life experiences.
Thank you to Gary, Michelle and Diana from WBA for all their hard work over the last year.

Congratulations to Tania Hemy-Bell, one of our team members, on becoming a new board member for the Wiri Business Association.
