Have you ridden Te Ara Tupua path yet? The weather has cleared and we've got bikes ready to ride.

It's an easy ride to Petone and back all on bike lanes separated from cars. Or you can ride to Days Bay and take the ferry back.

It's easy! We provide helmets, locks and give you full instruction on how to use our bikes.

We’re open 9:00am-5:30pm Saturday, Sunday and Monday this Kings Birthday weekend. Hit the bays cycle ways around the Miramar Peninsula to the south coast or check out the beautiful new Te Ara Tupua shared path!

I was lucky enough to have a little test ride on Te Ara Tupua- the new route from Nga Ūranga to Pito-one- this afternoon. It's pretty special as you can see! It is open from Saturday the 16th of May.

This connection means you can ride from central Wellington all the way to Petone on a bike lane or bike path. And there are connections to Days Bay, Hutt River Trail + Remutaka Cycle Trail.

A lot of hard work by so many people has been put into this project 💪

The Switched on Bikes team want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to our birthday bash last weekend!

No better way to celebrate than mates, community and kai! Oh and also a moonlit ride around the waterfront.

There’s HEAPS going on this May with Bike the Bays! Keep your eyes on open for group rides, a big bike picnic and of course Welly in Wheels! Get amongst it!!

The best 10th birthday present we've received this week is the opening of the Hataitai Beach to Evans Bays bike path. Which makes this weekend a glorious day to ride a bike!

Remember we've got FREE BIKE RENTAL this weekend (2-3 May) to say thanks to Welly for getting behind us for the past 10 years. 3 hrs or riding, you need a bank card for security and be over 18 or ride with someone who is.

I loved seeing the families with small kids taking a ride around the bay today. When we started 10 years ago, this wasn't possible. The narrow on-road cycle was to too narrow and scary for small and less confident riders. But look at us now!

There are LOADS of events like group rides and maintenance courses happening right throughout May for Bike the Bays month. Just search for it!

We’re thrilled to be a part of this celebration about all things cycling in Pōneke and the opening of the cycle paths to the eastern suburbs! It’s also our birthday weekend so remember to come grab your FREE bike rental from tomorrow!!

From our small beginnings in 2015, to our tiny Queens Warf shop (pictured) to our current home at Chaffers Marina it’s been a heck of a ride for the past 10+ years!! Thanks for all the support you’ve given us.

Remember, this coming weekend 2nd-3rd of May we’re doing FREE BIKE RENTALS to celebrate!!! Just pop down, bring a card for security and ride an eBike or city bike for up to 3 hours!! See you there, Pōneke.
