කසුනි හම්බනගේ මහත්මියගේ වෛද්ය ප්රතිකාර සඳහා වන පරිත්යාගය පිළිබඳ මින් පෙර අප කළ දැනුම්දීම සම්බන්ධවයි.
මේ සඳහා ඉතා කෙටි කාලයක් ඇතුළත නවසීලන්තයේ හා අනෙකුත් රටවල පරිත්යාගශීලීන්ගෙන් විශාල අනුග්රහයක් ලැබුණු බව ඉතා කෘතවේදීව දන්වා සිටින්නෙමු.
ඔවුන්ගේ ගිණුමට NZ$ 6290.00 ක මුදලක් ද Give a Little Page මගින් NZ$ 56,487.00 මුදලක් ද ලැබුණු බැවින් පරිත්යාගයන් භාර ගැනීම දැනට නතර කර ඇත. වෛද්ය ප්රතිකාර සඳහා වන වියදම වූ NZ$ 60,000.00 ක මුදල පියවා ගැනිමට හැකි වූ බැවින් කසුනි වෛද්ය ප්රතිකාර ලබා ගැනීම වහාම ආරම්භ කළාය.
කුඩා දිනායා හා යුවින්ගේ අනාගතයට අතිශයින් වැදගත් වන මේසා විශාල අනුග්රහයට සහභාගි වූ සියලු දෙනාටම කසුනි හම්බනගේ හා ඇගේ සැමියා වන එස්. කොඩිකාර යන දෙපළ තම හෘදයාංගම ස්තුතිය පළ කර සිටිති.
Donation for Medial Treatments to Kasuni Hambanage.
Further to our previous correspondence on the above, we inform you that the full treatment cost of NZ$ 60,000 was collected within a very short span of time. A sum of $ 6290.00 was donated to their joint account while a sum of $ 56487.00 was donated through the ‘Give a Little’ page by people in various countries including New
Zealand. Kasuni has already started her medical treatments.
Her recovery is important for the future of small Dinaya and Yuvini. Therefore, Kasuni Hambanage and her husband S. Kodikara thank all who participated in this meritorious activity in this critical moment.

කසුනිගේ වෛද්ය ප්රතිකාර සඳහා...
කසුනි හා සම්පත් ජිවිතයේ අලුත් පරිච්ඡේදයක් අරඹන්නට මහත් බලා පොරොත්තු ඇතිව 2012 වසරේදී නවසීලන්තයට ආහ. ඔව්හු වයස් විසි ගණන් වල තරුණ යුවලක් වූහ. සම්පත් පූර්ණකාලීන ශිෂ්යයෙකු වූ අතර කසුනි ඔහුගේ සහායට පැමිණියාය. ඊළඟ වසර නමය ඇතුළත ඔවුන් තම ජීවිතය ගොඩ නගා ගනිමින් සිටි අතර 2015 වසරේදී ඔවුන්ගේ දියණිය දිනායා උපත ලැබුවාය. 2018 වසරේ පුත් යුවින් උපත ලද්දේය.
එහෙත් 2020 වසරේදි ඔවුන්ගේ නවසීලන්ත ජීවිතයට අනපේක්ෂිත බාධකයක් ඇති වීය. කසුනි ඇඟ පිපිහළු වීම, කැස්ස හා මුත්රා ආබාධ වලින් පෙළෙන්නට පටන් ගත්තාය. මාස හතරක පමණ වේදනා විඳිමින් සිටි ඇයට සතරවෙනි මට්ටමේ ඩිම්බකෝෂ ගත පිළිකාවක් ඇති බවට වෛද්ය පරීක්ෂණ වලින් හෙළිදරව් වූයේය.
රෝගය සුව කර ගැණීම සඳහා ඇය වහාම රසායනික චිකිත්සක ප්රතිකාර ලබා ගන්නට පටන් ගත්තාය. හය වතාවක් ගත් මෙම ප්රතීකාර වලින් පසුව ඇය ශල්යකර්මයකට භාජනය වූවාය. අවාසනාවකට ශල්යකර්මය සාර්ථක නොවුණ බැවින් තවත් තුන් වතාවක් රසායනික චිකිත්සක ප්රතිකාර ලබාගැණීමට ඇයට සිදු වීය. මෙම ප්රතිකාරවල අතුරු ආබාධවලින් පෙළෙමින් සිටියදී වුවද කුඩා දිනායාට හා යුවීන්ට තවමත් මවකගේ ආදරය වුවමනා වූ බැවින් ඔවුන් වෙනුවෙන් මවක ලෙස කසුනි තම කාලය වැය කළාය.
පිළිකාවක අවසාන අදියරයේදී ලබා ගතහැකි ප්රතිකාර විකල්පයන් සීමා සහිතය. මේ අතර පිලිකා ශෛලවල වේගවත් පැතිරීම වලක්වාලීමට ‘ලිපොසොමල් ඩොක්සොරොබිසින්’ (liposomal doxorubicin ) නම් ඖෂධය රසායනික චිකිත්සික ප්රතිකාරයක් ලෙස ලබා දීමට වෛද්ය නිර්දේශයකින් ලැබීම තව දුරටත් ඇයට ජීවත්වීම පිළිබඳ බලාපොරොත්තුවක් ඇතිකරනු ලැබ ඇත.
මෙය නවසීලන්තයේ වෛද්ය සහනාධාර යටතේ සහන මිලට සපයනු නොලබන මිල අධික ඖෂධයයකි. 2022 සැප්තැම්බර් වලින් පටන් ගෙන මාස හතරක කාලයක් ඇතුළත දස වතාවක් මෙම ඖෂධ-ප්රතිකාරය ලබා ගත යුතුව ඇත. සානුකම්පිතමය සහන මිලකට ඖෂධයෙන් යම් ප්රමාණයක් ලැබී ඇතත් නවසීලන්ත ඩොලර් හැටදහසක් ($60,000) තරම් වන මුළු මුදලක් තව දුරටත් අවශ්යය වන බැවින් එය සපයා ගැණීමට කසුනි හා සම්පත්ට හැකියාවක් නැත.
එම නිසා මෙම ප්රතිකාර ලබා ගැණීමට ඔබගේ උපකාරය ඒ දෙපළ බලා පොරොත්තු වෙති. කාරුණිකව කුඩා දිනායා හා යුවිනිගේ ආදරණීය මවට මෙම අවාසනාවන්ත රෝගයෙන් මිදිමට ඔබගේ ආධාරය ලබාදෙන මෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටිමු.

Lend a hand to Kasuni...

It was brimming with hope that Kasuni and Sampath moved to NZ in 2012 to start a new chapter in their lives. They were a young couple in their 20s, with Sampath as a full-time student and Kasuni as the supportive spouse. Within the next nine years, they built their lives as Kasuni gave birth to daughter Dinaya, in 2015 and son Yuvin, in 2018. However, in the year 2020, their journey in Aotearoa took an unexpected turn. Kasuni began to experience symptoms of bloating, coughing, and constant urination. After four months of suffering, she was diagnosed with stage 4 Ovarian cancer.
Determined to beat the disease, Kasuni began chemotherapy immediately after the diagnosis. Six chemo cycles were administered to shrink the cancerous tumours, followed by surgery to excise any remaining masses.
Unfortunately, surgical excision was incomplete, and three further cycles of chemotherapy were administered. Through this gruelling process, Kasuni wanted Dinaya and Yuvin to always have a mother. While battling the side effects of chemotherapy, she was determined to support her children and provide them with her unconditional love.
It is cruel to ask two young kids to face life without their mother. Regrettably, treatment options are limited for late-stage cancer. Therefore, it was a great relief for Kasuni when she was prescribed
liposomal doxorubicin to slow down the aggressive spread of this cancer and increase her chances of survival. Liposomal doxorubicin is an expensive chemotherapeutic drug, unsubsidised by the New
Zealand medical system. In total, it is estimated that 10 doses will be given with four-week intervals in between starting on the 22nd of September. Fortunately, through a compassionate access
program, Kasuni will receive some doses at a discounted rate. Nevertheless, the total medical cost of this treatment is estimated to be around NZ$60,000. Kasuni and Sampath are unable to cover this enormous cost alone. They need your support urgently to undertake this treatment.
