One of the worst roads in NZ for safe trucking is SH3 especially through Te Kuiti(I am biased because I drive it daily), so I have done a video (in editing) of part of the trip demonstrating how resealing a road without actually taking out the lumps first is a BIG WASTE OF MONEY and creates a unsafe work environment. (I was shouting in capitals just in case Chris Bishop can hear me from the big house. ) Although this government has shown some initiative for delivering new roading, it might be at the expense of quality control and money for existing contractors that are maintaining and repairing existing roads. Stay tuned to channel 11.

Here is what is coming from government related to my update of the page purpose.

Three practical initiatives to improve our freight system will support economic growth, productivity, resilience and safety, Transport Minister Chris Bishop says.

It's been a while since I posted. That's because I thought things were on the improve... While there has been much more activitiy on road repairs, speed changes, highway construction etc, there is STILL an obvious weakness.... That's right,,,, resealing.
To save money, road contractors are sealing over undulation surfaces... A great example is uruti through awakino gorge to te kuiti SH3... I call it the load chucker.... While you can always do so much to secure your load, this road, and many others in NZ that I drive my B train are the same and they seem to have this unstoppable ability to shift the load or compromise the strops and load integrity.
Not only that but as a driver, even in a nice European cab I am getting thrown around like a marble in a tin can. I would love to take Simeon Brown MP for a drive from uruti to te kuiti and show him what I mean first hand... Happy to hear in the comments about any other recent repairs that are like this.

To all my friends, family and public.... SCAM ALERT. If you have something listed on trademe and you get sent a link that at first glance appears to be a marketplace link.... It's not... It is a fake Facebook login page attempting to get your Facebook credentials

Ok... Give me a second while I put on my keyboard warrior mittens.....
WHAT THE ACTUAL F # . I did try and keep this page politically free but this was the last straw to testing my restraint... This blatant woke racism by is a sickening waste of taxpayers money to ask an audience that has minimal valuable input that the bureaucrats could use. How about asking the sector that has actual experience about this subject that could be useful...eg the transport sector businesses, New Zealand motorists, emergency services etc.... Why.. Because they will tell you lot the TRUTH you don't want to hear and you don't want to do anything about reality. Better still if you don't want to fund real measurable roading outcomes just give the money back to Andrew Little so he can properly fund starship children's hospital instead.... This Waka kotahi organisation is a virtue signaling joke....
And mittens off.... Have a lovely evening and safe travels next week on what's left of New Zealand roads...

Waka Kotahi recently submitted a tender to the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS) regarding research into Maori experiences and expectations

NZTA and local authorities really need to have a plan to manage winter pothole damage. I am seeing (daily) too many close calls where drivers are crossing the centre line to avoid potholes... there is a saying that the squeaky wheel gets the oil... anyone who uses the roads (if we can still call them that) is a soldier in the army of squeaky wheels. Report that pothole or sh*tty road surface.. it cant be just left to Geoff Upson and TARMAC NZ. I am more than happy to take any reports and photos of damage to your vehicle or load that are directly related to a poor road surface. I am also looking from help from a large transport company that has seen an increase in vehicle maintenance on their annual P&L identified to breakages and wear and tear that is not and increase as a result of inflation... Cheers Muzz
