We’ve recently had a few customers call their roadside assistance during a breakdown, only to find out their policy covers a tow to the nearest mechanic — not the trip home.

With the colder months approaching, this is just a gentle reminder to take a few minutes to check exactly what your roadside assistance policy includes. It can make a big difference when you’re stuck on the side of the road.

No one wants to be left in the cold trying to organise and pay extra for a tow home — especially with fuel costs being what they are.

A quick check now could save you a lot of stress later 👍

Not a crash this time, but a different kind of whoopsie…The poor owner of this ute accidentally filled it with 60 litres of petrol instead of diesel 😬.... A pretty costly mistake—especially with fuel prices being what they are these days!..... Double check that pump before you fill up… it could save you a big headache (and your wallet 💸).

Tow Truck Driver Required 🚚

Join our small, family-owned towing business in the Waipā and become part of a supportive team where no two days are the same.

We are looking for a Tow Truck Driver to assist with a range of towing and roadside services. The role includes a mix of day and night shifts, so flexibility is important.

Requirements:
- Minimum Class 2 licence
- Must be living in Te Awamutu or within 15 minutes of our yard (due to on-call requirements)
- Ability to work day and night shifts
- V Endorsement preferred (can assist with gaining this if required)
- Opportunities to gain additional licence classes operating our larger unit

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide towing and roadside assistance for the NZ Police, insurance companies, roadside assistance providers, and the public
- Attend a variety of callouts including tyre changes, jumpstarts etc
- Maintain clean and well-presented trucks
- Carry out general yard duties as required

About You:
- Positive can-do attitude
- Reliable, honest, and professional
- Able to stay calm in stressful situations
- Willing to help where needed and work as part of a team
- Flexible and able to work a range of shifts

Applicants must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test and a criminal convictions check.
