Big congratulations to John Vierboom on not only his retirement, but also landing a hole in one last week. ⛳️

After a long stint in the blower division under #353 based out of Morrinsville, John officially retired back in November and it looks like he’s settling in pretty well.
Although we’re still waiting for him to realise it's actually not that great and he needs to come back part-time (manifesting here), it looks like the golf course has claimed him for now.

We need an experienced tanker operator to join the team. Base location is negotiable for the right person.

You’ll be stepping into some metaphorically big overalls, since the physical pair of the recently retired were quite small.

You’ll know your way around a tanker and take pride in your gear.

One of the 'OGs' calling it a day.
After 31 years on the job, Otorohanga local Mervan Merrin is hanging up the keys at Bulk Lines and with the Barker Family. Been there through it all, never made a fuss, just got in and got it done, every day.
Merv was Employee #9, to put that into perspective there's only a small handful left who go back that far.
We’re having a small do after work tomorrow at the Otorohanga Club Inc. Anyone that’s crossed paths with Merv over the years, be it farmers, locals, drivers, you’re more than welcome to swing by and have a yarn.

“Nip Tuck” has officially made the trip north from Christchurch and arrived safely in Hinuera.

This loader comes with a bit of a story too, she was named after one of the world’s top dressage horses, and by the sounds of it she’s been looked after just as carefully over the years. The previous owner sent through a detailed rundown of how she’s been maintained and operated, which says a lot about the pride taken in the gear before it even got to us. She still looks brand new.

Getting her here was a job in itself. Big thanks to driver Glen Bone for bringing the load up the country and threading it through some very tight spaces, and to Fleet Manager Greg Collins running the pilot vehicle. Top job lads.

The team at Hinuera are rapped with the new addition and the the accompanying pusher bar attachment “Zena” named after the previous owners dog. The quick hitch attachment has changed what was a 30 minute ordeal into a simple 30 second task! Credit to the guys at Protranz in Christchurch for this feature and our old friends at StraitNZ Road Freight for getting that bit up in safe hands.

A solid turnout at the Ōtorohanga Truck & Ute Show on Saturday.
We had a few of our rigs on display, parked up alongside some of the region’s sharpest trucks and utes. Always good to see the pride people take in their gear! Plenty of shine, horsepower, and a great crowd to match.
