💙 Happy Father’s Day 💙

Today we’re celebrating all the dads, grandads, stepdads, father figures, and special men who have supported, guided, and cared for those around them.

Whether you’re spending the day together, sharing stories, or making new memories, we hope it’s filled with laughter, connection, and appreciation.

From all of us at Driving Miss Daisy, Happy Father’s Day.

Today is World Senior Citizens Day, a day that recognises and appreciates senior citizens for all their accomplishments and contributions to the community we live in today. Senior citizens are valued members of society, who have plenty of kind wisdom and experience to share with the younger generation.

They are often overlooked and undermined because of their fragile state, but they have played a huge role in history, either in our communities, the workforce, or in our daily households. World Senior Citizens Day is a great opportunity to show them love and plenty of kindness in celebrating their golden age and their presence in our lives.

Throughout our lives we all want to stay connected with friends and family, maintain our independance and keep doing the things we enjoy. That is why it is important to look at our options for staying connected as we age. Whether this means continuing to drive familiar routes or stop driving completely. This does not mean that you should stop doing the things you love and connecting with your community. Driving Miss Daisy wants to keep you connected in the community and get you out and about so that you can keep your independance.

The “Life Without a Car” booklet can help families have this conversation as it is designed to empower older people and their families with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about transportation, and mobility options.
