On this beautiful morning we took all the Tūī tamariki to the park for a hīkoi. We had a fabulous time, so much fun was had by all. We had some sleepy tamariki ready for a moe once we got back to the centre.

Tēnā koutou I tēnei ahiahi.
Last Friday we took some of our tamariki for a hikoi to see the cars parked up town for Americarna. Some walked, some were in strollers and trolleys, all had a good vantage point to look at the many different types of vehicles. We stopped off in Prospero place where they had a band, the tamariki and kaiako enjoyed a boogie to some good music.
All involved had a fabulous time out and about in our community. We are looking forward to venturing out more.

Kia Ora Whānau,
We have had a lovely start to the new year spending lots of time in the sun. ☀️ Our tamariki have loved playing in the water and sand as well as challenging their gross motor skills on obstacle courses!
Can’t wait to see what we get up to next 🌻🌺🍉

Kia Ora,
Over the past month in the tūī room, we have been enjoying the lovely weather and time exploring outside! We have been keeping ourselves busy with lots of water play and sensory exploration activities! We hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Year break, and can’t wait to see what we can explore and experience next in 2025! ❤️🎄☀️

Here’s some snippets of our whānau Christmas celebration! We had an amazing evening with lots of Kai, music, activities, and best if all the ice cream truck!🍦It’s safe to say everyone had a great time getting together to celebrate ❤️ A big thank you to those who helped set up throughout the week, it really helped make the night special!

We would like to take the time to thank our whānau for such an amazing year. We have loved getting to know our new whānau who have joined us this year, plus seeing our tamariki hit new milestones and form new interests and skills over the course of 2024. We are so excited to see what’s in store for 2025🎉

Kia Ora! What a busy few weeks we have had in the preschool, with lots of fun activities and events we have done.
Recently we had Constable Pip come and visit us for an exciting morning.
She talked to us about kindness and how we can show this to our friends, whānau and our community❤️
Our tamariki loved looking at her uniform and special equipment, specifically her cool police badge!
Constable Pip stayed with us while we created our own Police badges and practiced our kindness beautifully for her!
We all waved her goodbye and she gave us a big flash of her lights and sirens 🚨
Thank you so much for giving us your time Constable Pip! We all enjoyed sharing our learning with you and building our connections with the wider community🚔

Our Kererū tamariki have been extremely busy lately! Soaking up all of this super sunny weather ☀️, baking and eating delicious kai 🍪, celebrating many birthdays and happy last days 🥳 they have been taking extremely good care of our outside environment, by learning and exploring about out new worm farm, planting sunflowers 🌻, carrots 🥕, corn 🌽, strawberries 🍓 and lots of other Kai in our garden 🪴 !

Kia Ora! This past week we have been busy creating our project for the Stratford scarecrow trail. Our tamariki have had a blast building and decorating ‘Koroua Taranaki’ to symbolise our Maunga that towers over our region. This has been a great way of honouring sustainability and encouraging our tamariki to celebrate what makes our region so special. This relates back to Belonging|Mana Whānau, within Te Whāriki.

Be sure to check out the other scarecrow entries around town with your whānau they look awesome! We would like to thank The Burnt Place Bar & Kitchen in Hāwera, and The Baking Company Stratford for collecting extra bottles for us to use, it is awesome to have such great support within the community!
