🚚 Another Machine on the Move

Our T610 out on the road, transporting a Hitachi 360 from Tapawera back to Taylor’s Contracting yard in Brightwater.

Whether it’s moving machinery between worksites or transporting oversized loads, our heavy haulage fleet is built to handle the job.

FULL STICK FRIDAY 🤙🚛

📍 Richmond Mall
🤝🏼 Customer: ARE Nelson

Truck 2 — our Hino 700 fitted with a rear-mounted PK53002 — has been putting in the work at the Richmond Mall rebuild, lifting air conditioning units into the new part of the mall. 🏗️💪

With an impressive 32-metre reach with the fly-jib on, the PK53002 was right at home on this one. That extra reach came in handy, allowing us to get out to those hard-to-reach spots and place the units exactly where they needed to go. 👌

And it’s not just Truck 2 that has been involved. From our 110T Liebherr crane right through to our telehandler, our fleet has played a range of crucial roles throughout the Richmond Mall remodel.

It’s pretty awesome seeing the project take shape and seeing the diversity of our work and capabilities all come together on one site. From heavy lifting to material transport and everything in between, it’s a great reflection of what our team and fleet can do 💪

We’re proud to be playing a part in such a significant project for the region.

Another big load on the move! 🚚

🤝🏼 Customer: Brightwater Engineering

We’ve made plenty of trips down to the Snowy River Mine this year, transporting everything from heavy equipment to oversized loads — and this mill shell is just one of them.

Our 110T Liebherr handled the heavy lifting, placing the mill shell onto the trailer before our 2023 Scania R620 hit the road from Brightwater Engineering, bound for the mine.

It’s jobs like this that make good use of the gear in our fleet, with the right combination of lifting and transport equipment needed to get some seriously big loads moving.

From heavy lifting to heavy hauling, we’ve got the gear to do both.

🚚 Throwback Thursday

Taking it back to the early days of what is now Morrison Square — back when it was known as Fashion Island.

Our old 1991 Isuzu was on the job, transporting the panels ready to be installed as the development took shape.

Fast forward all these years and, in a pretty cool full-circle moment, the site is under construction once again for its next venture.

A lot has changed since then, but we’re still moving the gear that helps build the Top of the South. 👏

🏗️ Another new addition making its way to Lift N Shift! 🏗️

There’s plenty happening around Lift N Shift lately, and we’re excited to welcome this 70T Liebherr LTM 1070-4.1 to the fleet. 💪

Our T909 was heading down to Christchurch, and it worked in well to return with the new crane, bringing it back to Nelson — making the most of the trip!

The Liebherr LTM 1070-4.1 brings a 70-tonne lifting capacity and an impressive 50 m telescopic boom to the fleet. Its versatility, mobility and reach make it a great addition and another step forward in the capability we can offer across a wide range of lifting projects.

With the new crane joining the fleet, our heavy haulage trucks working hard, and plenty of great projects in the pipeline, there’s certainly a lot happening behind the scenes.

More gear. More capability. More to come. 👀

FULL STICK FRIDAY 🏗️💥

Our 2014 Hino 700, fitted with a cab-mounted Palfinger PK78002, was called in to lift this spa pool over the top of a house and into its new home, making use of its impressive 32-metre reach with the fly-jib attached. 🛁🏠

A pretty standard job for the Lift N Shift crew — but standard never means we take things lightly.

We have a serious safety culture, and that applies to every lift. The lift was planned, roles were clearly established and every precaution was taken before getting underway.

Because experience might make a job look easy, but good planning and a strong safety culture are what make it look that way.

Another job done. Another successful lift. 💪

⚓ Another Day at Port Nelson ⚓

Our 110T Liebherr was on site at Port Nelson, lifting a gangway into position to help keep the port operating safely and efficiently.

Gangways provide a safe access point between vessels and the wharf, making them an essential part of day-to-day port operations. Jobs like these require careful planning, precision, and the right equipment to safely position large, awkward loads.

With its impressive lifting capacity, reach, and advanced lifting technology, our 110T Liebherr is well suited to complex lifts in busy environments like the port.

When the Job Calls for Two 🏗️

Recently, our 110T Liebherr and 60T Grove teamed up to assist Porter Mechanical with splitting a TigerCat feller for a slew ring replacement.

With a machine of this size, having two cranes on the lift provided the capacity, manoeuvrability and control needed to safely separate and handle the components throughout the job.

Tandem lifts like this take more than just having the right gear. Careful planning, experienced operators and clear communication are all crucial. A detailed lift plan is prepared before the job to ensure everyone understands the load, crane capacities, lift sequence, positioning and potential risks.

Once the lift is underway, communication between the crane operators is key. Every movement needs to be coordinated and controlled, with both operators working together to keep the load balanced and the lift running safely.

It’s a great example of what can be achieved when good planning, skilled operators and the right equipment come together.

Taking it back to one of our old Truck 1 jobs, installing silos on a local farm with its cab-mounted Palfinger PK66000 crane.

Whether it's out in a paddock, on a construction site, roadside, or somewhere with challenging access, our crane trucks are built to get the job done wherever it's needed. No matter the location, we pride ourselves on finding the safest and most practical lifting solution.

This truck may have moved on, but it played a big part in delivering reliable lifting solutions across the Top of the South and helping build the Lift N Shift fleet you see today.
