Taking it back to one of our old Truck 1 jobs, installing silos on a local farm with its cab-mounted Palfinger PK66000 crane.

⚓ Keeping Marine Projects Moving ⚓

📍 Anchor Engineering, Port Nelson
🤝 Customer: Anchor Engineering in conjunction with Talleys

We recently assisted Anchor Engineering with the lift and positioning of a propeller shaft for a Talleys vessel.

For this job, we deployed Truck 8 – our 2016 Hino 700 fitted with a cab-mounted PK53002 crane. Its compact setup made it the ideal choice for safely lifting and positioning the propeller shaft in the yard, giving the engineering team the access they needed to carry out their work.

Jobs like this come down to good planning, clear communication, and experienced operators. Working alongside the team at Anchor Engineering, we completed the lift safely and efficiently, helping keep the project on track.

Company Update | A message from Lift N Shift Director Reuben Eggers

As a director of Lift N Shift Ltd, I am pleased to announce the acquisition of the assets of Waimea Heavy Haulage as of 1st July 2026.

I'd like to sincerely thank Peter and Jenny McIntyre for the hard work, dedication and commitment they have shown in building such a respected brand, an impressive fleet of vehicles and a loyal customer base. Their efforts have created a strong foundation and we look forward to building on that legacy.

This acquisition brings together two businesses with complimentary strengths, that will allow us to provide an even broader range of transport and heavy haulage solutions. Importantly, we've listened to our existing customers and one of the consistent messages has been the need for a widening trailer. We're pleased that this acquisition enables us to meet that demand and further strengthens our service capabilities.

We're also thrilled to welcome the Waimea Heavy Haulage team to Lift N Shift. Their experience, knowledge and commitment to customers are a huge asset and we're excited to have them join our business. We're especially pleased that Mark will remain at the helm, continuing to manage the day-to-day operations. His leadership and industry expertise will provide continuity for customers and staff alike, ensuring the high standard of service Waimea Heavy haulage is known for well into the future.

We're excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to developing new relationships while continuing to grow the trusted partnerships we already have. We remain committed to delivering safe, reliable and professional services to customers throughout the industry.

🌲 Weekend Work to Keep the Forest Moving 🌲

📍 Golden Downs Forest
🤝 Customer: Porter Mechanical

Our team was called in to assist Porter Mechanical with replacing a hydraulic pump on-site at a skid site in Golden Downs Forest. To minimise downtime for the digger and keep the operation moving, the job was completed on a Saturday, helping the Gale Logging crew get back up and running as quickly as possible.

For this lift, we used Truck 12, our 2021 Hino 700 fitted with a rear-mounted PK53002 crane, providing the reach and lifting capability needed to safely complete the pump replacement in a challenging forestry environment. Whether it's planned maintenance or urgent breakdown support, we're committed to helping our customers minimise downtime and keep their operations productive.

An awesome tandem lift completed for Cohesive Construction NZ 💪

Using our Liebherr 110T crane alongside our 60T Grove crane, the team safely lifted and positioned this impressive structure, weighing approximately 14 tonnes and measuring around 30 metres in length.

The tandem lift was carried out to raise the roof structure into position ready for the walls and overall shed to take shape. This required precise coordination between the cranes, operators and the crew on the ground throughout the lift.

Jobs like this highlight the importance of detailed planning, clear communication, experienced operators, and the right equipment working together to achieve a safe and successful outcome.

A fantastic effort from the whole crew and another successful lift completed.

A great project to be involved in with Specialised Concrete Products.

Our team has been busy transporting and standing the precast concrete panels, with the first panel successfully installed this week.

It's always rewarding to see a project start taking shape, and we're looking forward to watching this one progress.

One of the many perks of the work we do is getting to travel to some incredible places — and this job was no exception.

This trip saw us carting culvert pipes and a lunchroom container into Fighting Bay, where contractors are carrying out important access works around both the station and the structures where the main Benmore DC line enters the Cook Strait on its journey to the North Island. It’s always rewarding being involved in projects that play a part in keeping key infrastructure moving.

We kicked the morning off under grey, miserable skies, but by the end of the trip we were greeted with views like this — making every kilometre on the road well worth it. It’s hard to complain about the drive when the office for the day looks like the Marlborough Sounds.

Truck 12 — our 2021 Hino 700 fitted with a rear-mounted PK53002 — handled the job with ease, taking on the long haul, winding roads, and changing conditions along the way.

Big days, challenging access, and incredible scenery — just another day doing what we do best.

Transporter Tuesday 🚚

Another successful job completed for Porter Hire — transporting this Hyundai 235 digger from their Nelson yard down to Port Nelson, where it’s now on its way out to one of their customers.

Recently, our team completed a pool lift in Richmond that required lifting directly over the client’s house. Although the finished result looked simple, a lot of planning went into making sure the job ran smoothly from start to finish.

Before the lift took place, a detailed Lift Plan was completed and the crew were fully briefed so everyone understood their role in the operation. With high-risk lifts like this, preparation and communication are critical.

The pool was transported from a Hope Storage site to the client’s property, where Truck 15 — our 2024 Scania P500 fitted with a cab-mounted PK92002 crane — was onsite and ready for the lift. Once the transporter was carefully positioned, the team safely lifted the pool into place without issue.

A great effort from everyone involved and another successful job completed safely and efficiently.
