Queenstown Airport is proud to share that more than $50,000 has been distributed through the ZQN Community Fund to 15 organisations across Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago.

From supporting young people and families to strengthening community connections and protecting our environment, these grants help enable some very important work.

It was wonderful to celebrate this year’s recipients last night and hear first-hand the difference this support will make.

The ZQN Suitcase Race made its much-anticipated return to Coronet Peak on Saturday as part of Snow Fest, delivering spectacular spills, plenty of laughs, and some fierce competition.🛄✨

It was a fantastic day on the mountain, and Queenstown Airport was proud to support this much-loved event.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped bring the event to life. We’re already looking forward to next year!❄️

A timely reminder to be prepared and take extra care on our roads this winter.❄️

New snow chain rules are coming into effect this winter ❄️⛓️

From this winter, drivers who don’t fit chains on Council‑managed roads when required may face a $750 fine. This is enforceable under the Traffic and Parking Bylaw 2025, with Police responsible for issuing infringements.

Winter conditions can change quickly, so please make sure you’re carrying chains, confident fitting them, and following any signs or directions from Police, ski field teams or QLDC.

These changes will help keep our alpine routes moving and ensure grit trucks and emergency services can access roads when needed.

A great few days at Electrify Queenstown⚡️

We were proud to support this year’s event by hosting the ZQN Business Lounge and a networking evening, bringing together industry, community and partners from across New Zealand and beyond.

After dark flights ✈️✨

This week marks a significant milestone for Queenstown Airport with 10 years of after-dark commercial flights.

Since the first evening arrival in May 2016, extended operating hours have strengthened regional connectivity, supported tourism, and provided greater flexibility for both travellers and airlines.

Today, after dark operations are a core part of our network, contributing to more efficient scheduling and increased capacity during peak periods.
