It’s been a week of crazy weather in the top of the South. Very brief spells of sunshine but mainly rain, rain, more rain, and the most epic thunder and lightening show last night!

Big shout out to our boys and girl (Sarah, we love you) on the road for keeping the wheels rollin’, and not complaining once about having damp undergarments ☔️🥺

We get out there and get things done, rain or shine 💪🏻

Happy weekend folks! May it bring us some much needed fine weather to dry us all out, and remind us why we love to call the top of South ‘home’ ✌🏻☀️

🚛 Meet the Team – Episode 6: The One Who Rolls His R’s 😄

Meet Arnie — one of our top-notch truck drivers here at Westhaul.

Arnie joined us a wee while back from the deep South, and yes… you’ll know it the second he starts talking. Those rolled R’s are iconic.

He loves life on the road and takes real pride in what he does. His truck? Always clean. Always tidy. Always representing Westhaul properly.

Arnie is:

😄 Owner of a smile that lights up a room
😂 Armed with a cracker sense of humour
🗺 Always up for a last-minute jaunt out of town
👍 Just a straight-up real nice dude

When he’s not clocking up the kilometres, you’ll find him:

👨‍👦 Hanging out with his son
🚤 Constantly fixing his boat
🐶 Driving around with his two dogs like loyal co-pilots

He’s the kind of guy who just gets on with the job, brings good energy to the team, and never shys away from a challenge.

We’re lucky to have a driver who takes such pride in both his truck and the Westhaul name.

From freight to fishing… we know how to haul them in! 😄

Big shout out to Arnie (Westhaul driver) & his lovely wife Kylie for taking some of the team out today, AND making sure they all got back to shore safely so they can get back to mahi tomorrow 💙

To the Mums behind the wheel, the Mums holding families together, cheering from the sidelines, keeping on top of the life admin, and doing the hard yards every single day — we see you, and we appreciate you ❤️

Today we also send extra love to those whose Mums are no longer earth side. We know Mother’s Day can be a tough one, and we’re thinking of you today 🤍

🚛🔥 RECORD BROKEN! 🔥🚛

We love Barry Westrupp. A stalwart in the transport community, he retired from Westhaul a few years back, but still loves to visit the depot multiple times a week to make sure Karl is behaving himself, wash his ute, spin the big yarns about his previous life in the freight industry, or sit quietly in the office listening in to the animated conversations.

This week in “Big Yarns with Baz” he was telling us about back in his day they moved 60 containers in a harvest season.

Well hold onto your pantaloons people because this week we smashed our record for the most export containers moved in a single day……30 containers💪

Massive effort from the drivers, dispatch, loaders, growers, packhouses, and everyone behind the scenes who helped make it happen. Harvest season is always full noise, but the team steps up and gets it done.

Super proud of what this little Motueka team continues to achieve, and even prouder to support our local industry during one of the busiest times of the year.

Big thanks to everyone trusting Westhaul to keep things moving 🚛🍎

🍎🥝🚛 Harvest Update – We’re right in the thick of it! 🚛🍎 🥝

We’re halfway through the season here in Motueka, and it’s been all go for the Westhaul crew. Early starts, late finishes, looooong weekends, and plenty of kilometres clocked up keeping the fruit moving where it needs to be.

To date we have moved 631 containers 🙌🏻

Big shoutout to all the growers and packhouses — we know how full-on this time of year gets, and we’re proud to be backing you up.

Our trucks are rolling daily, shifting everything from orchard to packhouse and beyond. And yep… we’re still taking on work if you need a hand 👀

✔️ Container de-vanning
✔ No mucking around — just getting it done
