Auckland City Rail Link opens this Sunday!

Walkspace is extremely proud to be part of this landmark project, supplying customised versions of our E_Series seating elements across the CRL station network.

Link Alliance approached Walkspace directly to develop seating solutions for each station. In response, we adapted our E_Series range to meet the client’s vision, project brief, and the requirements of the station environments.

The customised range includes varying lengths of our standard E_01 seat, a double-sided back-to-back seat option, a wall-mounted option, and aluminium slats in place of timber to meet station requirements and AS/NZS guidelines.

Stay tuned for more information and documentation on Walkspace’s involvement in this landmark project.

Built for harsh environments.
Durable hardwoods such as purpleheart, vitex, eucalyptus and garapa are ideal for outdoor furniture due to their dense fibres, natural oils and resistance to moisture, decay and insects.
Walkspace selects responsibly sourced timber and can provide FSC-certified hardwood upon request, creating outdoor furniture designed for long-term performance. If you require further information, take a look at our For Landscape Architects page on our website, there you will find more detailed information about the Hardwoods we source.

Powder Coating vs Wet Spray Painting
Both finishes protect and enhance surfaces, but each suits different applications.
Powder coating provides a hard, consistent and durable finish, making it ideal for metal products exposed to regular use, UV and coastal conditions.
Wet spray painting is better suited to oversized items, non-metal surfaces, on-site work and projects requiring specialised coating systems.
The right choice depends on the material, size, location and level of performance required. Correct surface preparation is essential for achieving a long-lasting result.

Project spotlight: Lake Dunstan Community Hall, Cromwell

Located beside Lake Dunstan in Central Otago, this new community facility commemorates those who served in the two World Wars while providing a world-class auditorium, museum, cinema, café and flexible event spaces for the local community.

Designed by Jasmax and SA Studio, the project is guided by principles of connectivity, flexibility and adaptability. Aukaha also helped ensure the design reflects the identity, history and stories of local mana whenua.

Working with Naylor Love and Jasmax, Walkspace supplied modified versions of our ARP seating range, carefully tailored to complement the architecture and surrounding landscape.

Completed March 2026.
