Our Terminal Development is gathering momentum! The back of house area of the new terminal now fully enclosed and the timber structure is taking shape.

The large laminated timber beams will become the check-in and departures area of the new terminal!

Today on International Firefighters' Day we're recognising our amazing Rescue Fire Service. Thank you Murray, Mark, Joe, Todd, Steve, Nicolle, Glenn, Peter and Jack for all the mahi you do to keep the airfield, our team and our customers safe.

International Firefighters’ Day is a time to recognise and honour the sacrifices that firefighters make to ensure that their communities and environment are as safe as possible and to thank current and past firefighters for their contributions.

After 23 years, today we say farewell to Terry Cooney as he heads off to retirement. Terry joined the airport team in 2003 as a Rescue Fire Officer, moving up to Safety and Security Manager in 2017 and most recently, our Airfield Operations Manager.

Terry was always the first one to lend a helping hand, somehow knew every answer to the Stuff quiz and never said no to a biscuit or a sausage roll.

We’re going to miss your knowledge, your humour and your enthusiasm for morning tea!

Thank you for everything you’ve given over the years, you’ve been such an integral part of our team and we’re going to miss you immensely!

Our talented architects have been hard at work preparing some updated renders of our new terminal. We can't wait to see this come to life over the next couple of years!

On Friday last week we officially broke ground on a new freight and logistics facility, developed in partnership with Freightways Group.

Due for completion in late 2026, the 8000m² development will future‑proof Freightways’ operations and strengthen Palmerston North’s role as a nationally significant distribution hub within Te Utanganui.
