2026 marks another major milestone -> 80 years of the Hyslop transport legacy πŸš›

This year marks the eighth decade since the Hyslop transport legacy first put down roots in Outram, working alongside the wider Taieri community and the farming families who make this area what it is.

Across four generations, we’ve had the privilege of supporting multiple generations of farmers - not just as a service, but as locals who live and work here, continuously supporting and giving back to the community that has been with us since the very beginning.

Behind every year is a team of dedicated employees, past and present, who’ve helped carry the business through changing times with pride and commitment.

80 years on, we remain proud to be locally based, family operated, and committed to the people and place that helped build our family legacy. Thank you to the community that has been and continues to be a part of our journey πŸ’–

πŸŽ‰ Marking a Major Milestone! πŸš›

This month we celebrate an incredible milestone for our lead driver, Dave – 20 years with our team. Over the years, he’s proven time and again that he can take on any challenge, always putting in the hard yards with exceptional skill, dedication, and a genuine pride in his work.

It’s been a big year for him as well β€” not only reaching this 20-year milestone at work but also ticking over 300 games with the local rugby club, West Taieri. He’s a down-to-earth and humble bloke who gives his best in everything he takes on, with the same commitment to his team and community as he shows on the job.

We’re so proud to have him on our team β€” after two decades he knows the job inside out and could just about do it in his sleep! A massive heartfelt thanks to Dave for his dedication, loyalty, and the huge contribution he continues to make to our business.

In the words of the West Taieri Rugby Club – Dave you’re a bloody legend! πŸ’ͺ 🀍

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Eric Hyslop, aged 96, who devoted his life to the family business, originally C.H. Hyslop & Sons, alongside his brothers.

Eric dedicated his life to supporting the industry, mentoring countless operators, and helping Hyslop Rural Transport grow into the company it is today. His legacy continues through his dedicated family, the company, and the wider groundspreading community he helped shape.

RIP Grand Uncle Eric πŸ’™

🚜 An Incredible Evening with Groundspread NZ - NZGFA in Oamaru! 🌿✨

Last Friday, we had the privilege of joining Groundspread NZ - NZGFA for a fantastic industry event in Oamaru. It was an evening filled with insightful discussions alongside industry leaders from Ballance Agri-Nutrients, Ravensdown, Tabula, Federated Farmers, and Fertiliser Quality Council NZ.

The passion in the room was undeniable, with dedicated spreading contractors coming together to explore new ways to enhance the service we provide to our customers. Collaboration like this is what drives our industry forward!

A huge thank you to Kylie from Mainland Spreading for bringing together all the South Island branches for such a valuable and well-organized event. Looking forward to seeing the positive impact of these conversations in the months ahead! πŸš›πŸ’¨
