Please treat all wires as LIVE as normal power supply could be restored at any time, and as a precaution, please ensure all your sensitive equipment is switched off at the wall.

⚡Out with the (very) old and in with the new! ⚡

Our crews are busy year-round maintaining and upgrading our network to keep power flowing across the region.

We recently replaced this power pole which has stood proudly in place for more than 60 years, and the transformer attached after 40 years of service.

While they have both served the community well for decades, all network equipment eventually reaches the end of its working life. Replacing ageing assets before they fail is an important part of our job keeping the lights on and helping to prevent unplanned outages.

From power poles and power lines to transformers and substations, we're constantly investing in our network to ensure it remains safe, reliable, and ready for the future. Every repair, replacement, and upgrade helps strengthen the network our community relies on every dayâš¡

🎉Our Pukeuri Zone Substation Transformer Replacement project is COMPLETE!⚡

We are excited to share that our two new transformers have now been livened and are officially in service, which marks the very important final milestone in this important investment for our network.

This powerful upgrade has replaced two aging transformers that have loyally served our community for decades, and the new transformers will improve network performance, increase reliability, and help keep the power flowing smoothly for many years to come.

While there are still a few finishing touches and site tidy-up works to complete over the coming weeks, we're proud to have reached this significant milestone.

A massive thank you to everyone who has played a part in bringing this project to lifeâš¡
