Taranaki Truckers Group was formed in 2011 by a group of local truck drivers, who got together to organise a truck show, for both fellow truckers and the public, to give everyone in the community the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the country’s finest machines. After the success of our previous shows, we've decided to do it all again, on 7th March 2021 (Taranaki Anniversary
Weekend) at the same venue, Hickford Park, Smeaton Road, Bell Block, New Plymouth. A convoy will start from Centennial Drive, New Plymouth. All trucks are to gather in the area by 8am on the day. We will need to leave the hill free to allow room for staging the trucks in order of parking at Bell Block. We will depart 9am sharp, travelling along Breakwater Road/St Aubyn Street, Molesworth Street, Hobson Street, left onto Northgate, left onto Henwood Road, to Smeaton Road to Hickford Park, where the trucks will be on display for the public to view. Trucks will be free to leave the venue at 3.30pm. Prize Giving will be from about 2.30pm. We will be having truck rides around the block to give the public a chance to see the road from the cab. Where possible we would like to share this task amongst the drivers, to drive some rigs that will be available to us. If you can help by providing trucks to use, please get in contact with us prior to the show. The venue we have for this show is the same as last year, so fortunately trailers will be able to be accommodated. T-shirts/singlets will be available to order on the day of the show.
