Over winter and spring, Cycle Nelson was proud to lend one of our vans to the incredible team at Kai Rescue.
Kai Rescue does awesome work redistributing surplus food to families and people in need across our community — and we were stoked to help keep that food moving where it matters most.
It’s a small contribution from us, but being part of something that makes a real difference feels pretty special. Huge respect to the Kai Rescue crew and everyone who supports their mahi. 💚

Our Spring Team Special is $99 per person for Nelson businesses, designed for groups of 4–30 people. It’s an easy way to swap the office for a day out together, and actually give everyone something to talk about on Monday... 😉

Cycle Nelson are proud to support Kai Rescue by supplying one of our trusty vans through winter and spring. It has been used to deliver food parcels to those who needed support, good food for good people from around the Nelson Tasman region.
I'm riding the in two weeks time and if anybody feels inspired to donate to Kai Rescue please go to www.nec.org.nz/donate Please let us know this spring & summer if you have extra food to share and we can collect whilst driving cyclists aid the region

Still one good school-holiday day left in them?

If the answer to “what are we doing today?” is getting harder to come up with, put everyone on bikes.

One of the best things about cycling Nelson Tasman as a family is that the day doesn’t have to feel like a sporting event.
Pick an achievable ride. Stop when something looks interesting. Make lunch part of the plan. Let an e-bike take some of the work out of it if needed.

The goal isn’t to clock kilometres - it’s to get home with tired legs, good photos and something better to talk about than what everyone watched on a screen.

If you’ve been thinking about riding the Heaphy but getting yourself, your bike and your gear to both ends has stalled the plan, this could be your opportunity.

We’re bringing together interested riders for a proposed Cycle Nelson MTB shuttle:
🚐 Thursday 5 November 2026: transfer to Brown Hut, the start of the Heaphy Track.
🚐 Sunday 8 November 2026: return transfer from Kohaihai/Karamea.

It’s $390 per person for the shuttle transfers, including MTB and luggage transport - helping you sort transport at both ends of your independent ride.

Coming solo, with a mate or with your riding crew? All welcome! We need a minimum of six participants overall for the shuttle to run; you don’t need to organise six riders yourself.

Bike hire, racks and personal locator beacon (PLB) hire are also available if required, at additional cost.
