📢 Exciting news, Hawke’s Bay. Air Napier has just become the first New Zealand Fixed Base Operator (FBO) to join PrivatPort’s global executive aviation network.

After providing FBO services to international clients visiting Hawke’s Bay in recent years, joining PrivatPort is an exciting step onto a much larger aviation stage for us, for Hawke's Bay Airport, and for New Zealand’s executive aviation industry.

This follows the strategic joint venture between our parent company, SO Capital, and PrivatPort, the global executive aviation division of Swissport International AG, to expand PrivatPort’s presence across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

PrivatPort CEO Josua Hildbrand says, “Air Napier brings extensive operational expertise, an outstanding reputation and a strong commitment to customer service."

As part of this next chapter, our FBO services will operate under PrivatPort, while Air Napier’s private jet charters will continue under the Air Napier brand. Napier remains the foundation of who we are, with our expertise, systems and management helping support PrivatPort’s expansion across New Zealand and the wider region.

The Air Napier team was left completely speechless when Bella Duncan and her family hosted a morning tea to celebrate an incredible season and Bella’s success with her horse at the Air Napier 2026 Show Hunter Championships we recently sponsored since Horse of the Year was cancelled.

As our operations manager, John Hamilton, said, supporting the event felt like the right thing to do after seeing the impact of Horse of the Year’s cancellation on riders and families. Events like this matter because they give riders and enthusiasts something to work toward and celebrate.

And celebrate, Bella did! She won the cheque competing in the combined ponies & hacks Air Napier Derby! 30 riders competed for the $1000 winner’s prize, which Bella won!

Seeing young riders like Bella achieve at such a high level is a reminder of how bright the future of New Zealand equestrian sport is. A huge thank you to the Duncan family for sharing this celebration with us and recognising our team in such a generous way!
