Visiting the Kororā Sanctuary at Napier Port with some of the youth enviro rōpū members from the regional council. What a special spot to visit and see the little blue penguin up close. Ngā mihi to Paul Rose for showing our rangatahi through and giving an inspiring kōrero about how the kororā sanctuary came to be and the mahi that goes in to help protect this precious species 😊🐧

Take a moment to act for nature this Conservation Week 5-11 September.

Conservation Week 2022 focuses on how we can take action for nature.

Taking action not only benefits nature, but also our personal wellbeing. Ka ora te whenua, ka ora te tangata - when the land is well, the people are well. When Papatūanuku thrives, we thrive.

Find out how to take action below 👍

Want to help shape the future of public transport in Hawke’s Bay? Now is your opportunity.

We are proposing more connected, and frequent bus services to provide a genuine alternative to taking the car. We really want to hear what you think of the proposed plan but most importantly, what you think we’ve missed.

Submissions close on 31 August, 8pm. To read the document and have your say, head to: https://www.consultations.nz/hbrc/hawkes-bay-regional-public-transport-plan-rptp/

Proposed changes include:
🚌 Bus routes that run the same way in both directions (rather than the current one-way loops)
🚌 connections between routes
🚌 Increasing frequency of bus services
🚌 More buses running beyond 6pm each day
🚌 Ensuring buses run to time
🚌 New peak express service from Central Hawke’s Bay into Hastings
🚌 Supporting services for Wairoa
