We will have two of our amazing Daisys who will be ready and waiting at the farriers carpark to take you across in our Driving Miss Daisy car, right to the door of expo for just $5 return!

We will also have one of our wheelchair accessible vehicles down at Farriers, so if you wana see what its like to travel in wheelchair, come on down and see us!

🌼 Still feeling incredibly humbled by this one… 🌼

There are some moments in business that stay with you, and receiving the Courage in Action Award 2026 at the Driving Miss Daisy National Conference in Christchurch was certainly one of them. 🥹💛

While the award has my name on it, I honestly feel it represents our entire Wairarapa Daisy team.
This year has brought its challenges, particularly with my back surgeries and the time I needed to step away and focus on my recovery. During that time, our Daisy’s stepped up in every possible way. 🌼
They kept the wheels turning, looked after our clients, supported one another and took on extra responsibilities when they were needed most. Watching them pull together and continue to deliver the care and service our clients deserve made me incredibly proud.
It also meant so much having such understanding clients while I was out of action. Your patience, kind messages, check-ins and continued support made that challenging period a whole lot easier. 💛

At the heart of Driving Miss Daisy Wairarapa are the relationships we have with our clients and our community. It’s the conversations, the laughs, the familiar faces, the little moments and simply being there when someone needs a helping hand that make our work so special. 🥰
So although I’m incredibly honoured to receive this award, I see it as a reflection of something much bigger than me.
It belongs to the incredible Daisy’s who stepped up when they were needed, and to the wonderful clients who continue to put their trust in us.

I feel very lucky to have such a amazing team beside me and such an amazing community around us. 🌼💛

Today we celebrate the International Day of Older Person

A time to celebrate the value of older people and acknowledge their contributions to our communities; in the work place, as volunteers, as caregivers and as whole people, with dreams, aspirations, wisdom and experience.

International Day of the Older Persons was observed for the first time in 1991 so has been running for over 30 years. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness about the issues affecting older persons. It also provides an opportunity to take steps to demonstrate respect. Older people are caretakers and custodians of traditions and so much knowledge and information are held within their experiences and memory.
