Next update on SH3 at 6pm, Thursday 23 April

SH3 between Mokau and Piopio will remain CLOSED overnight and until further notice.

It is expected that the road will remain closed for a number of days.

⚠️ Main route north out of Taranaki is currently closed due to large slips.

We’re monitoring the situation and will share updates as more information comes through.

Update:
Due to flooding and rockfalls, State Highway 3 between Mokau and Piopio is now closed until further notice.
