One of the most rewarding parts of being a travel agent is helping make holidays possible for people who may have thought they were out of reach.

Recently, I had the privilege of helping Peter enjoy his third international holiday with my support—this time to the beautiful Cook Islands.

Peter travels with an electric wheelchair and specialised mobility equipment, so this wasn’t a holiday that could simply be booked online. Every stage of his journey required detailed planning, clear communication and coordination between multiple providers.

One of the biggest challenges was sourcing essential mobility equipment in Rarotonga. Unlike larger destinations, this type of equipment isn’t readily available to visitors, and there aren’t standard services you can simply book before you travel. It took extensive research, local coordination and plenty of communication to ensure everything was in place before Peter arrived.

Working alongside Air New Zealand ,
local healthcare providers and on-the-ground contacts, we were able to coordinate the support needed from departure through to arrival, allowing Peter to enjoy his holiday with confidence.

Seeing it all come together and knowing another incredible trip became a reality is exactly why I love what I do.

Sometimes being a travel agent is about so much more than booking flights and accommodation. It’s about finding solutions, removing barriers and making travel possible. 💙
