A blustery cold day for shopping but no snow on the ground which was pleasing. We are not keen skaters! There is never any hurry when you shop with Plus Bus. Clients can whizz around Woolworths or have a leisurely shop looking at new products and taking time to make decisions. Once everyone is settled and belted up we head off homewards unless, there is a story to be told or a joke to be shared. Then we sit in the cosy bus in the carpark and pay attention. We're all great listeners on our trips.

What a glorious morning to be out shopping with our Plus Bus clients. So pleasant not to be scurrying into the supermarket seeking shelter from the wind. A little variety today with a side trip to the Post Shop with one client, and giving meat purchasing advice to another client. I'm vegetarian and know nothing about meat but apparently the meat I chose for her last month was beautiful! Our Plus Bus service is great for our clients and educational for me! Every week we wonder what route we will travel as more cones and detours appear. That's not a bad thing - our clients get to see different streets and views!

Another fun outing to the Supermarket. N parks the van in one of the Disability Parks at Woolworths so our clients don't have far to walk. He even brings trolleys right to the van, they're great for stability when walking. A side trip to the Post Office with K and then we were off following her shopping list around the aisles. On the homeward trip there were stories shared, explosions of laughter, comments made about roadworks and detours, and people remembered. Plus Bus Tuesdays are magical.

At Plus Bus we're looking for volunteers.
Right now we would love to find a volunteer driver and assistant for Thursday mornings and a driver or assistant for alternate Thursday afternoons.
We're also looking for anyone who might be interested in filling in as a casual driver or assistant to cover sickness or holidays.

No snow today so we were really happy to be out shopping again. Because we missed last week the shopping lists were larger today. But everyone very nimbly got around the supermarket and there were big smiles for Neil as he unloaded all the groceries from the trolleys into the numbered bins. After we dropped off the last client we returned to base via Wycolla Ave - blossom already!

We had a marvellous time on the way to and from the Supermarket today. Firstly two birthdays, one today and one in the coming weekend. Not giving anything away but the numbers involved were a 6 and a 1, and a 9 and an 8!
K purchased some gift wrap in store and decided it would be appropriate for bestowing a knighthood on Neil. So Neil knelt and K performed her royal duty! We now have two male clients on the bus which makes for even more laughter. R was busy during the week turning leaves he'd dried into bookmarks which he then offered to everyone. They were really beautiful and very much appreciated. And in between the laughter and generosity everyone found the time to get their groceries. Tuesday mornings are always fun.

Great to be out on the Bus again today. A calm morning and not too cool so there was no dashing between bus and Woolworths. And YES, we can dash if we need to! Somehow we got onto the topic of dreams today and how we can never trace them back to a singular happening. Talking, laughing and sharing stories starts on the bus and continues throughout our shopping expedition. There's always laughter when shopping with our clients.

What a beautiful morning to be driving around Dunedin collecting our 5 passengers. We all arrived at the Supermarket in good spirits after a chatter and catch up - a lot had happened in our lives since last week! As K was unable to get out today we called in to her place, collected her shopping list, and I joined our shopping clients wheeling trolleys up and down the aisles. The staff are great at Mornington Woolworths, always happy to guide us to an item we can't find. Then groceries all bundled into separate bins in the back of the van and everyone belted up, we were off delivering our wonderful clients and their shopping home again.

Another Tuesday, another shopping trip to Woolworths Mornington with our lovely clients. It was quieter in the supermarket today so we were able to complete the shopping with ease - no bumping of trolleys, no queues. Whoever returns back to the van first has time for a good old chat with Neil our driver, or the next client to return. There's never a hurry, so clients are able to take as long as they like, wander around, check out new products......
