SIRTA Backs Trauma Recovery Programme for the NZ Transport Sector. The South Island Regional Transport Association (SIRTA) is supporting the rollout of a new trauma recovery programme designed specifically for New Zealand’s transport and logistics industry. Led by the Transport Well Charitable Trust, the Recovery After Trauma programme will provide practical tools and support for workers, colleagues, and businesses dealing with the aftermath of traumatic events. Originally developed in Australia by Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds in collaboration with Phoenix Australia Centre for Posttraumatic Mental Health, the programme is now being adapted for New Zealand conditions, language, and regulations. Once completed, all resources will be freely available through the HARMfree Transport and Logistics web portal. "The programme addresses a very real issue across the industry. Members of the SIRTA Board have either experienced trauma themselves or know someone who has. Supporting a programme that could genuinely help people recover and cope is a worthwhile investment for the entire industry.” Said Chris Webby SIRTA Chair.
