We've given transporting.nz a bit of a facelift!

As part of a wider tranche of work to upgrade and future-proof our systems, this new-and-improved website is easier to navigate for the general public, news media, sponsors and industry supporters - and it's a lot nicer to look at too.

Check it out and let us know what you think?

Our members can continue to log in through the Member Portal (members.transporting.nz).

Big thanks to the awesome team at Grow My Business.

Ferry Replacement Update

Join us for an in-person (and online) industry update on Monday 15 June where we'll dive into all the latest on the Interislander ferry replacement programme. This follows on from our sold-out ferry event in Blenheim back in February.

Get the latest updates, ask questions, and hear how the Cook Strait connection will operate until new ferries arrive in 2029, including during dry dock periods. Hear from KiwiRail, Ferry Holdings and CentrePort Wellington.

Whether you're a transport operator, freight customer, or an affected local, this event's for you!

The 12pm-1pm presentation will be followed by a light lunch and refreshments.

Register today to secure your place.

Congratulations, Warwick on this tremendous and well-deserved achievement. Warwick has been in the forestry and transport industry since he was 21, driving logging trucks and later improving safety through founding the Log Transport Safety Council and his position as Board chairman at the Road Transport Forum and most recently at Transporting New Zealand.

Truck crashes were once a risk to public safety, Warwick Wilshier said.

One month to go until the road freight event of the year! In the meantime, check out what some of our attendees had to say about 2025's North Island seminar.

In lieu of a separate event for the North and South Island, in 2026 we're bringing transport leaders from across the country to meet at Parliament for one big, beautiful election-year conference.

It's got all the features you ask for at our events - breakout sessions, sector group discussions, networking with others in the industry, and Cameron Bagrie's economic wits - with an even more extensive and varied programme. The most influential people shaping New Zealand's transport policies and by extension, how you conduct your business, will be there. Got any curly questions for them?

Registrations close 12 June - no late admissions.

Have a snack and a chat tomorrow at NZI's Truckie Rest Zone, Paengaroa CVSC.

Heavy vehicle drivers, keep an eye out for the NZI Truckie Rest Zone at Paengaroa on Wednesday 20 May. Pull your rig in, enjoy some complimentary refreshments, get a health check, and have a chat to our NZI Fleet Fit experts about driver fatigue and ways to keep yourself safe and well.

Proudly supported by the NZ Police Commercial Vehicle Safety Team and Hato Hone St John.

Fatigue is a major cause of road accidents, and we want to support drivers to stay safe on the roads. So come along to refresh and recover for the next leg of your journey, we would love to see you there!
