We’re excited to welcome Blair Hammond to the TruGroup team as our new Engineering & Production Lead.

Blair brings a diverse background, from hydraulic fabrication and EQ structural repairs in the Red Zone, to aviation, lifts, general fabrication and Motorsport. The depth of experience is already making an impact across the workshop.

Outside of work, Blair is all about radio control car racing and supporting local clubs.

For Blair, workmanship means taking pride in the finished product and owning the job as a team, something in that fits perfectly with the TruGroup way of working.

Not everyone comes to this industry the same way. For Courtney, the road here wasn't straightforward, but it was hers, and she walked it with purpose.

Starting from scratch and rebuilding takes more than skill. It takes the kind of resolve that doesn't fold under pressure. Courtney brought exactly that. Within four months of stepping into Traffic Management, she had sat her CAT AB assessments. She now leads crews of 20+ across some of Canterbury's busiest worksites.

Her words:
"The most important part of being an STMS is adaptability, leading under pressure while still teaching and mentoring."

"Don't let anyone who underestimates you knock your confidence. If you know you've done your best, you can be proud."

Her proudest moment so far? Watching a crew member she trained step into his own STMS vest.

We had a bit of extra help on the job this past month. This fella clocked in early and claimed a cone as his smoko spot. Did absolutely no work, offered zero traffic control support, but still reckons he ran the site. Typical

Another TM Ute build is heading out the door for Cargill Contracting Ltd

A tidy, purpose built setup with a 4 week turnaround, and a small point of difference, it’s the first traffic deck we’ve built on a Ute that wasn’t the usual baseline white model.

Delivered on time and ready to work.

Recently, the team was called out to a fast turnaround job supporting Downer with urgent access to a local cell tower. Our traffic management crew moved quickly to get a compliant setup in place so their technicians could safely repair the internal components of the tower.

By the afternoon, the work was complete and the site was packed down, a smooth, efficient response to a time sensitive request.

Welcome Herman Steyn

We’re excited to welcome Herman Steyn to the team as our new Sales Manager.

Herman is all about building strong client relationships and delivering tailored solutions that genuinely make a difference. Behind the scenes, he works closely with our internal teams to make sure every solution is aligned, efficient, and built exactly to our customers’ needs.

Outside of work, Herman’s usually playing darts, brewing his own beer, or smoking meats low and slow. He’s also jumped back into running after nearly 10 years and is currently training for a half marathon by the end of the year.

When asked what he’s enjoyed most in his first weeks at TruGroup, Herman said it’s the people, the collaborative culture and shared drive to deliver results.
