One approach to city bike share is to try and get as many dockless bikes as possible. However recent data from North America shows that more bikes does not equal more trips. "Dockless bike share entered the market in 2017, making up 44% of all bike share bikes on the ground in cities, but only 4% of all rides"

Could quality be more important than quantity for bike share success in Christchurch?

But they're not yet sold on dockless bikes, according to a new report.
