Day 2 of the AKL Age Group Swimming Competition 🏊‍♀️

Every race, every turn, every early morning — it’s all part of the journey. In swimming, we believe in the power of **1% marginal gains**: getting just a little bit better each day, improving a stroke, a start, a mindset.

Proud of the effort, the courage to compete, and the lessons learned in the pool. The goal isn’t just the podium — it’s growth, resilience, and enjoying the process.

One race at a time. One percent better each day.

**Road to Nationals.** 🇳🇿💪

Sending my kids to a full-week swim camp in Cambridge wasn’t just about laps, drills, or medals. It was about letting go—giving them the space to grow, learn independence, and discover the joy of building friendships and true camaraderie.
They came home sun-burnt, sore, and happily exhausted from the rigour of training… but they also brought back laughter, stories, new bonds, and that beautiful reminder of what it means to be part of a swim family.
Sometimes growth looks like tired muscles and messy hair. Sometimes it looks like confidence, connection, and hearts full of fun. Grateful for the journey, the people, and the lessons that go far beyond the pool. 💙🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️

Even on holiday, when training’s on pause, the passion continues and find its way—teaching these 2 little swim buds, younger sibling and cousin becoming stars in the future.

From eldest to youngest—passing on the love for the water! One more swimmer joining the family wave!
