Be courteous when sharing the road with horse traffic. Horses can take fright easily, so you'll need to adjust your driving as soon as you see them on the road in front of you.
It's important to slow down and pass carefully, avoid passing other cars when near a horse, and dip your headlights at night when approaching a horse. Don't sound your horn, rev your engine, or pass at speed, as this also can frighten the horse.
