We're proud to share that Hygiene Systems has been recertified as a Toitū CarbonReduce organisation, for the second year running.
While our absolute emissions rose slightly with growth, we achieved a real reduction in emissions intensity, less carbon per dollar of revenue, independently verified by Toitū.
1.55 tCO2e reduction against base year. Roughly equal to 6,340 km of driving
Mauri ora to the team. Onward to year 3.

Women's Health Week starts on Monday.
From 10 to 16 August, Te Wiki Hauora Wāhine is a week focused on the health of women and gender diverse people across Aotearoa. This year's theme, "Me aro koe ki te hā o Hineahuone," is a call to pay heed to the dignity of women.
Each day covers a different area. It opens with periods on Monday and moves on to subjects like mental health, menopause, sexual health and the cancers that affect women. A few of these still get talked about in a whisper, or not at all, which is much of the reason a week like this matters. Tend, who run it, have organised free events around the country and put clear health information from Kiwi doctors in one place.
We're getting behind it.
Looking after workplace washrooms is what we do at Hygiene Systems, and that includes sanitary bins. It can seem like a small thing, but a discreet bin to dispose of period products that's well serviced in every cubicle is one of the practical ways a workplace supports the women who use it. If yours could do with some attention, we're happy to help.
You can find events near you and browse the A to Z of women's health at womenshealthweek.nz.

Impress every visitor, every time.

Meg Hansen and Erica Busch are off to Hamilton next week. Find them at Booth 16 at the Holiday Parks NZ Conference and Expo, 27 to 30 July at Claudelands.

Guests remember the washrooms. We have been keeping them up to standard for 25 years, with more than 450,000 services delivered a year across New Zealand.

Come and talk hand drying, soap, sanitiser or sanitary bins, and grab a goodie bag while you are there.

See you at Booth 16.

Mānawatia a Matariki.
Matariki is Aotearoa New Zealand's New Year. A time for remembrance, for gratitude, and for looking forward.
We asked our team what Matariki means to them. Here is what they shared.

Free washroom posters, ready to download and print.

People need reminders. A poster above the basin or in the cubicle is one of the easiest ways to give one, so we have pulled together our most requested themes and made them free to download.

They work in any shared washroom: offices, schools, medical centres, cafes, gyms, retail, you name it. Wash properly. Dry your hands well. Sanitary items and wipes go in the bin, not down the toilet.

That last one matters more than people think. Wipes and sanitary products are still the most common cause of blocked drains, and one bad blockage usually means an emergency plumber and a bill nobody budgeted for. A sign on the wall stops a lot of that before it starts.

Print as many as you need and put them where people will actually see them. No cost, no sign-up.

Download them here: hygienesystems.co.nz/downloads

We've been looking after Kiwi washrooms for over 25 years. This is a small thing, but it saves people money.

There's something special about a team that shows up before sunrise, not because they have to, but to support a great cause.
Last week our fantastic team of Auckland service technicians gathered for our Hygiene Systems Pink Ribbon Breakfast, with Rochelle Timbers and Nigel Swain-Williams on duty making sure everyone started the day with a proper bacon and egg bap.
We raised $728 for breast cancer awareness, with Hygiene Systems matching every dollar donated by staff. Because when our people give, we give too.
But beyond the dollars, this one means something personal. Everyone of us has a mum, a sister, a wife, a daughter, a friend, a colleague who has been touched by breast cancer in some way.
Seeing our team come together at dawn, fed by their own colleagues, giving what they can for a cause that hits close to home for so many of us, that's the kind of morning you don't forget.
Proud of every single one of them.

World Menstrual Hygiene Day.

Around 70,000 women in New Zealand experience period poverty every month. One in twelve school-age girls has missed school because she could not afford products. The government continues to fund free period products in over 2,000 schools.

What happens in the workplace is a separate conversation. Take a look at what is actually in the cubicle. A functioning sanitary bin, properly maintained with clean liners and no odour, is one of the simpler things a workplace can get right. Most people do not notice when it is done well. They notice when it is not.

The Femcare bin is serviced on-site. The liner is swapped at each visit, and P-Max is applied between services to control bacteria and odour. A sensor-operated lid is available if touch-free disposal matters at your site.

If your washrooms could do better here, we service sites across New Zealand.

Winter is coming, is your workplace ready?

Cold and flu cases are already starting to rise earlier this year, which means now is the time to step up workplace hygiene.

A few simple changes can significantly reduce the spread of germs:
- Increase sanitisation frequency in high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, fridge handles and microwave keypads.
- Switch to Auto dispensers, less touching means fewer germs spreading
- Encourage a ‘weekly desk sanitising routine’ for staff.

At Hygiene Systems, we make it easy for workplaces to stay protected this winter. Small hygiene upgrades can make a big difference.

Get winter-ready today: visit www.hygienesystems.co.nz to explore our range or contact our team 0800 374 494.

Pink Shirt Day lands a little differently when you work in an industry built around healthy environments.

We spend a lot of time thinking about what makes a workplace clean. Surfaces, hands, the air people breathe. But the workplaces people actually want to show up to? That part comes down to how people treat each other.

Bullying at work is more common than most companies will admit out loud. So today our team is wearing pink and we are putting it on record. Check in on your people. Say something when something feels wrong. It genuinely matters.

Proud of this crew. 💗
